School Fundraising Pack Fundraising is FUN A school s guide to FUN fundraising activities Telephone: +44 (0) 1243 778 275 www.justdifferent.org JustDifferent, The Old Workshop, Mill Lane, Walberton, West Sussex, BN18 0QE

Fun draising for JustDifferent Welcome to your easy fundraising guide, with everything you need to get started. You will help change the attitudes towards disability and difference of children and young people across the UK. Thank you! Be Inspired, do something Different A cake bake with a difference: Can the pupils bake a cake and decorate it in an unusual way? Sell them on a cake stall to parents and friends at the end of the day. Remember they will all be cakes, but just made in different ways! A school day with a difference: Ask the pupils to get sponsored to come to school in different clothes; This may be fancy dress or non uniform. Remember you are all the same, but you just look different! Lunchtime with a difference: Why not get the pupils to try feeding each other lunch and ask for sponsorship not to use their hands. Remember you will still be able to eat your dinner...but just in a different way!

Just Different album Get the pupils to find photographs of when they once looked different. Put all the photos of the pupils in the book and make a different photo album. Display at your school and ask people to make a donation to see your album. Remember they will all be pictures of you, but you will just look different! Maybe your school would like to choose JustDifferent as their chosen charity! You may have many of your own ideas too. Great! We can t wait to hear what you did and how much you raised. What your money will do! The money you raise will enable JustDifferent to reach more children and young people to learn about disability and difference. Your support will transform the way disabled people are viewed, valued and included in society. I was a bit scared of disabled people but now I know they are really nice Pupil

Fun draising Guidelines First Things First Decide what event to do Decide where and when you will do it Making Money Set a realistic fundraising target Get the children behind it and motivated Ask children to get sponsorship money or bring in the money Inform JustDifferent office of your fundraising event (contact details at end of guide) Publicise it Send the JustDifferent Supporter Press release to the local papers and radio station to publicise your fundraising event at your school After your event Send in your money, along with your completed paying-in and sponsorship forms or contact your JustDifferent presenter to come and collect all the money raised Send the Supporter press release to local papers, radio stations and the JustDifferent office, with photos of your event Thank everybody involved! JustDifferent will send a certificate in acknowledgement of your efforts and to say a big thank you! If you share our vision, of a world where disabled people are accepted and included as equal members of society and where everyone values and respects each other regardless of their abilities or disabilities You can help to achieve this! I enjoyed listening about how we are different because then everyone will know they are beautiful in their own way Pupil
