The series consists of eight publications and will cover most of the renewable energy fi eld. They will get you familiarized with the Finnish competence and expertise on renewable energy technology on different branches. The publication series is a part of the Renewable energy technology companies networks and supply chains project. Project is a co-operational project to Finnish Energy Cluster program and it is mainly funded from European Regional Development Funds (ERDF). Project aims to increase the renewable energy share on the energy technology export business and answer the growing demand of renewable energy technology due to increased renewable energy use, as stated in the EU climate program. The markets are growing worldwide, not only within Europe. According to recent report of The Research Institute of the Finnish Economy, the Finnish energy technology export grows fast. During the year 2008 the energy technology export reached the value of 5 billion Euros, which is 7.6 % of all Finnish export. This means that is one of the most specialized energy technology supplier in the world. Numbers include all energy forms, but not for example component delivery, so the actual values are even larger. It was also pointed out in the same report, that there are still growing sectors in the renewable energy technology markets. An extensive survey was sent nationwide to the renewable energy technology suppliers. Questions covered the whole value chains for each branch of energy sources, companies current status and future prospects, willingness for networking and to extend their business plus many other things. These results will be reported in detail in due course. The companies who expressed their interest on participating The Competence Network series are introduced in this publication. This presentation gives an overview of Finnish competence in the Wind Power technologies. The brochure also provides quick and easy reference across the disciplines to reach the right contacts required for further information.
