POSTER CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENT Call for Entries: USGBC Louisiana and the Greenbuild 2014 New Orleans Host Committee are pleased to announce the Greaux Green in New Orleans Commemorative Poster Contest. We are looking for participants of all backgrounds: from experts to amateurs, from green industry professionals to students, from life-long environmentalists to newbies! Get Involved! This Year s Theme: The contest is open to participants who are 18 years of age or older who wish to share their artistic talents and creativity to promote this year s theme:. The goals are to praise all of the great rebuilding and greening that has been done, to celebrate the coming of Greenbuild 2014 to New Orleans, and also to think ahead with a future-oriented bent on how innovative and green our statewide community could be. The concept and graphics of the poster should include imagery that celebrates and reflects transformation. Submissions can focus on individual structures or at the urban landscape scale. Witness green; now imagine it grow. What is it? What could it be? Important Dates: The contest runs to Monday, June 30, 2014. Posters must honor this year s theme and be submitted to USGBC Louisiana by NOON CST on Monday, June 30, 2014, to be eligible. Members of the Greenbuild 2014 New Orleans Host Committee will evaluate entries and will select Finalists. A community panel will select a final winning design by vote. If You Win: The Commemorative Poster Contest winning design and artist will receive a monetary honorarium, a public exhibit and poster signing session, press and media coverage including the USGBC Louisiana website and social media, ten (10) posters, and two (2) tickets to the trade show floor at the Greenbuild Expo. The winning poster design will be the official poster promoted and sold by USGBC Louisiana during Greenbuild 2014 in New Orleans. Greenbuild s participants reflect an international audience of 30,000 people. Don t miss this exciting opportunity in our state! POSTER CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES 1. Entry Fee: Free 2. Entries per person: Entries are limited to ONE SUBMISSION PER ARTIST OR GROUP. 3. Submitting your entry: Submit your final entry with: 1.) The completed Application Form, 2.) An original, signed Graphic Release Form, and 3.) Any photographed persons release forms (see #5 Copyrighted Images and Subjects below). Submit your poster via email to: jenniferkaltwasser@usgbclouisiana.org with Poster Contest Entry in the subject line. Confirmation of receipt will come by email response. This will be done manually and may take up to 24 hours. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please call USGBC Louisiana at 504-330-1292. 4. Overall Design: Only ORIGINAL artwork will be considered. The poster must include the words: in support of the poster theme. Copyrighted Images and Subjects: Copyrighted, trademarked products, packaging, brand names and advertisements may not be used within the poster. Original, signed release forms are required for persons, whether public or private citizens, who are photographed and appear on the poster. Release forms can be as simple as a paragraph stating permission from subjects with a printed list of names of the individuals appearing and signed by the individuals. If the subject is under 18, a parent or guardian must sign the release form. This rule will be strictly enforced. 6. Electronic Resolution and Format: Artwork is to be submitted in electronic format with a resolution of at least 200 DPI and in JPG format. Selected Finalists will be required to resubmit poster images at a higher resolution for printing purposes. The poster image should measure no larger than 20 wide x 24 high and be in portrait (vertical) orientation. The final poster design will be 22 wide x 28 high, including border, USGBC Louisiana logo, and room for artist s signature. 7. Judging and Winner Selection: Members of the Greenbuild 2014 New Orleans Host Committee will evaluate entries and will select Finalists. A community panel will select a final winning design by vote. All decisions will be final. Submissions will be reviewed for the following criteria: 1.) Creative and original artwork, 2.) Compelling visual concept of transformation, 3.) Overall impact (all graphics are related to the topic and make it easy to understand the poster theme), and 4.) Marketability of poster to multiple audiences. 8. Final Poster: USGBC Louisiana reserves the right to alter the final poster design or to reject all submissions for the final poster design. All submissions become the property of USGBC Louisiana and may be used for commercial purposes. No entries will be returned. 9. Deadline: Monday, June 30, 2014, by NOON CST 10. Rebuilding Green New Orleans POSTER CONTEST PHOTO AND GRAPHIC RELEASE FORM The purpose of this License Agreement is to confirm the rights of USGBC Louisiana to use the content shown in the attached list. 1. I understand that USGBC Louisiana is a nonprofit organization trying to promote green buildings in Louisiana, and I grant this permission in exchange for goodwill and other good and valuable consideration (the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged).
