How do I engage Call Forwarding on my Cbeyond Business Line when I m not in the office? Remote Access to Call Forward (RACF) is set up on all phone numbers that are on your Cbeyond account however the feature must be activated prior to using Remote Access to Call Forward. RACF works just like Call Forwarding Universal (CFU). It is the same feature; it is just activated in a different way. You will still get the courtesy ring. The only difference between RACF CFU and regular CFU is that the forward to number does not need to answer, like it does when you dial *72. First time activation - Initializing RACF on the line Before you can actually use Remote Access to Call Forwarding, you have to initialize it on the line(s) you wish to forward. First time activation requires that you be physically located at the telephone line that you wish to forward. 1. Dial *98 from the telephone number that you would like to forward at some point in the future (The System will ask you to enter your PIN which is initially set to 1000. 2. Once you enter the default PIN the system will prompt you to change it. The system will confirm that is has been successfully re-set. Your line is now ready for Remote Access to Call Forwarding. Secure VPN: What are the different Cbeyond Secure VPN products and how do I set them up? Answer Cbeyond offers several VPN solutions as an add-on to your basic services. For more information on these solutions follow the appropriate link below: Secure VPN On-Net (for connecting multiple Cbeyond Accounts) Secure VPN Off-Net (for connecting a remote, non-cbeyond site to your existing Cbeyond VPN) Secure VPN Remote User (for connecting individual remote users to your Cbeyond VPN) Contact Customer Support for more details on any of these products. GENERAL NOTES: Virtual tunnels connecting users or locations, with both endpoints on Cbeyond's network, will enjoy higher quality connections, since the tunnel completely operates on Cbeyond's private IP backbone. Virtual tunnels which terminate off of Cbeyond's network will traverse the public Internet. Many customers can also support virtual tunnels -- either to branch locations, or from remote Internet users -- by hosting a commercially-available VPN server on their LAN. Customers will need a LAN vendor or an internal staffperson to purchase, install, and support a LANbased VPN server. Secure VPN On-Net SecureVPN On-Net connects multiple sites that are served by Cbeyond by creating a secure network for sharing files and data. Every on-network site connected to the VPN will be able to see the resources of the other connected sites, just as though they were wired to a single physical network. The VPN is completely private and does not use the public Internet for office-to-office data transfer, so your data is secure. SecureVPN On-Net is not a service for terminating remote access VPN traffic from the Internet. To connect off-network office locations or to access your SecureVPN from home, you may subscribe to Cbeyond s SecureVPN Off-Net or SecureVPN Remote User, or may host a LAN-based VPN server. CLICK HERE for detailed setup instructions. Secure VPN Off-Net Cbeyond s SecureVPN Off-Net solution provides site-to-site connections between Cbeyond-serviced sites and remote office locations not served by Cbeyond by creating static IPSEC tunnels to securely carry data over the public Internet. Communication points between one or more Cbeyond sites and remote office locations are predefined using unique Source / Destination network pairs to specify which IP network within the Cbeyond VPN can communicate with IP networks at the remote office. Unlike Cbeyond s SecureVPN On-Net s fullymeshed configuration, SecureVPN Off-Net does not support dynamic/default network routing.
By creating predefined, protected tunnels through the public Internet using sophisticated encryption and authentication logic, information can be exchanged with remote office locations with the same security and reliability as on-network communications.
