Sovereign FLEXIBLE LED LIGHTING PRODUCTS Commercial Lighting Systems Ltd have been specialising in the manufacture and supply of energy efficient lighting products since 1991. We introduced our first LED product to the market in 2003 and have since invested a huge amount of our resources into this exciting new technology to ensure our products remain at the forefront in terms of performance, efficiency and longevity. In 2010, we introduced our Flexible LED range and have since supplied many thousands of metres of this highly adaptable product for both interior and exterior applications with tremendous success. Our numerous regular clients appreciate that the advice we are able to offer with this product, based on the vast experience we have gained over the years, ensures our products really do outperform many supposed similar products offered in the market today. This is a technically advanced product which we do not believe lends itself to being sold in rolls for preparation on site amongst all the dust and debris that can entail. We prefer to work closely with our clients and prepare the product in our UK factory to the final lengths required for the project for a perfect result. Not only does this remove any concerns for the installing contractor but also enables us to provide supply leads to the exact length required according to the location of the drivers. The majority of our standard Flexible LED products operate on 12V DC, and we offer a comprehensive range of drivers (dimmable or non-dimmable) specifically designed for this type of product. Apart from the familiarity that the 12V system offers, another major benefit is that the product is more versatile in terms of the cutting points which are normally half the distance of an equivalent 24V product. This becomes very relevant where for example the maximum available space for the aluminium profile could be say 2mts which would mean the actual LED strip would be 1950mm for 12V but only 1900mm for 24V potentially resulting in dark ends. For the highest power strips or for exceptionally long runs, however, we do advise 24V in order to keep volt drop to a minimum. We standardise on CRI>70 for most of our flexible LED products. More importantly, we offer a range of colour temperatures to ensure the most appropriate colour appearance for any given project. We even offer a colour temperature adjustable version to enable the client to select colour appearance according to their wishes. We can, of course, offer higher CRI if required, although it should be remembered that the Colour Rendering Index is a quantification of the faithfulness of colour appearance under the test light source compared to the colour appearance under the standard source of the same colour temperature. It is not an index for indicating how preferable colours appear. So, for example, a CRI>70 light source with a warm colour temperature would probably be more appropriate than a cooler CRI>90 light source when illuminating a predominantly red subject. Note: We always recommend that our Flexible LED product is mounted to a suitable aluminium heatsink, and we offer a full range of specifically designed LED profiles with choice of diffuser. These profiles can be supplied cut to the exact length required for your project.

03 Sovereign Colour Temperature Adjustable LED Tape Using the latest advanced dual chip version of the 3528 LED module, this linear LED system allows maximum flexibility in terms of colour appearance anywhere between 2500 K through to 7000 K. By using a dual chip rather than alternating Warm/Cool chips, a seemless colour appearance is achieved, even on surfaces in close proximity. Colour appearance can be changed almost instantly to suit changing displays or to help give the area a different atmospheric feel. A full range of aluminium profiles are available to suit this product to provide correct heat dissipation for optimum performance and longevity. Utilising the latest 5630 LED module, and set for Constant Current operation on a 24V DC supply, this version offers exceptionally high constant light output (even on longer runs) together with extended lifetime. 07 Sovereign Low Power White LED Tape An ideal product for providing more subtle lighting effects with a considerable reduction in energy consumption. The lower wattage also reduces the need for additional heat-sinking although this product still benefits from mounting onto a metal surface (see page 12) to ensure optimum performance and longevity. 11 Sovereign IP Rated Potted LED Tape A highly versatile system available on our full range of LED tape in conjunction with our wide range of aluminium profile. Typically used in any area where dust or moisture could be present, this system ensures optimum performance of the LED strip with maximum protection from impact or water ingress. Once the most suitable LED tape and profile are selected, our specialist LED production team will cut & prepare the profile before securely fixing the chosen LED tape to ensure optimum heat dissipation. End caps are fitted and the entire module is then sealed with a UV protected clear liquid compound which sets to provide a fully protected light module. As a bespoke system, mounting brackets can be designed & produced to suit each specific project. Maximum individual module length 2mts which, when butted close together, can form a continuous run with virtually un-interrupted lighting effects. 13 Sovereign LED Drivers for Flexible Tape To ensure optimum performance from our flexible LED range of tape, we offer a wide range of drivers from 10W through to 200W. As these drivers are often located in a dusty environment on top of cupboards etc, we recommend our sealed range of waterproof units as standard. Alternatively, a range of dimmable units are also available, with TRIAC mains dimmable a popular choice, although other systems are also available including 1-10V or DALI. 14 Sovereign Helpful Hints Sovereign Flexible LED Tape Helpful Hints! Flexible LED tape is arguably one of the most versatile lighting products ever to enter the mainstream lighting market. Used correctly, fantastic results can be achieved together with extended lifetime of the system. We would like to pass on a few tips to help you get the most from your Sovereign Flexible LED system, and we are of course always on hand to assist further as required. TIP 1 Don t overdo it on power output, only use what you need! It s amazing what results can be achieved from even the lowest output product. Although this product is highly efficient and has a low energy consumption, it s surprising how the watts add up once you have a few metres installed! TIP 2 TIP 3 TIP 4 TIP 5 Remember the product will generate heat and the more you can do to transfer that heat away from the LED s the better in terms of performance and longevity. Where possible, use our Sovereign LED profiles as the perfect heatsink (essential on higher output versions). As with most Flexible LED products, Sovereign tapes are produced within a fairly wide colour temperature band ie 2800-3200K. We make sure each project is supplied from just one batch to ensure colour consistency throughout the project. Where additional product is likely to be required at a later stage, our batch traceability enables us to check the exact batch previously supplied, but help us to help you and let us know if you think more will be required! Decide on driver location at time of order and let us know what lead lengths you would like so we can produce these for you to make life easier on site. On longer runs, feed the lengths regularly to keep volt drop to a minimum. On higher wattage tapes, even consider feeding both ends on each 5mtr run (see below). TIP 6 On longer runs of RGB, pay particular attention to the layout of drivers & controllers and amplifiers (where necessary) to ensure colour consistency. Remember that although white can be achieved with standard RGB product, for a true and consistent pure white you should consider adding an additional white tape or possibly using an RGBW product (available to special order).
