MTB / Tech Talk / Bigger wheels limitations - Less keen to accelerate while easily retaining momentum once up to speed = more flowy pedalling, but more effort to accelerate - Longer spokes do absorb more energy in impact but also flex more = they feel less rigid at the same wheel specs - At the same price, a 27,5 bike is lighter and quicker in accelaration = more racing - Cockpit position limitations in relation to rider s height
MTB / Tech Talk / How it will develop? - Considering the performance penalty of low-spec d 29 wheels, it is reasonable to expect the 27,5 to be more succesfull in the mid to low-end range - 29 and 27.5 will share the high-end segment = 29 for XCM and 27.5 for XCO - Considering the small difference between 26 and 27.5 and that 3 wheels sizes is too much to handle for the bike business chain, we can expect the 27.5 to substitute the 26 completely in the new bikes market - 26 will stay for used components and very good discounts that will be available
