UNPACKING When unpacking, check to make sure all the parts shown in the Parts List on page 6 are included. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number shown on the cover of this manual as soon as possible. GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS 1. Keep work area clean and dry. Cluttered, damp, or wet work areas invite injuries. 2. Keep children away from work area. Do not allow children to handle this product. 3. Store idle equipment. When not in use, tools and equipment should be stored in a dry location to inhibit rust. Always lock up tools and equipment, and keep out of reach of children. 4. impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not attempt to use this product. 5. Use eye and hand protection. Wear ANSI approved safety impact eye goggles, and safety gloves when using this product. ANSI approved safety impact eye goggles and safety gloves are available from Harbor Freight Tools. 6. Dress safely. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry, as they can become caught in moving parts. Wear a protective hair covering to prevent long hair from becoming caught in moving parts. 7. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times to prevent tripping, falling, back injury, etcetera. 8. Industrial and commercial applications must follow OSHA requirements. 9. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing at all times. Use common sense. Do not use this product when you are tired or distracted from the job at hand. 10. Check for damaged parts. Before using this product, carefully check that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for damaged parts and any other conditions that may affect the operation of this product. Replace or repair damaged or worn parts immediately. 11. Replacement parts and accessories: When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Only use accessories intended for use with this product. Approved accessories are available from Harbor Freight Tools. 12. Maintain this product with care. Keep this product clean and dry during storage for better and safer performance. SPECIFIC PRODUCT WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS 1. CAUTION! For your safety and the safety of others it is important to note that the Tabs are ejected out of the FRONT of the Picture Frame Tab Gun, not downward as with most packing/stapling guns. 2. Never point the Nose Piece (14) of the Picture Frame Tab Gun towards yourself, other people, or animals. Always assume the Tab Gun contains Tabs. Do not allow anyone nearby while using the Tab Gun. Keep all bystanders a safe distance away from the Tab Gun. 3. Use eye and hand protection. Wear ANSI approved safety impact eye goggles and heavy duty safety gloves when using this product. 4. Always keep hands and fingers away from the Nose Piece (14) when loading and operating the Tab Gun. 5. Remove your fingers from the Hand Lever (17) when not driving Tabs. Never carry the Tab Gun with your fingers on the Hand Lever. The tool will fire a Tab if the Hand Lever is accidently squeezed. 6. Grip the Tab Gun firmly with both hands to maintain control of the tool. 7. Do not drive Tabs close to the edge of a workpiece. The workpiece is likely to split, allowing the Tab to fly free or ricochet and cause personal injury. 8. Do not drive Tabs on top of other Tabs, or with the Tab Gun at too steep an angle. The Tabs can ricochet, causing personal injury. 9. Never loosen or remove the Driver Knob (20). Before each use, make sure the Driver Knob is firmly screwed onto the tool. 10. Improper use of the Tab Gun can result in personal injury and/or property damage. Only authorized personnel should use the Tab Gun. 11. Maintain labels and nameplates on the Tab Gun. These carry important information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement. To Load The Tab Gun: OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Depress the Spring Release Knob (18), and pull all the way up on the Slider Knob (1). (See Figure A, next page.) SKU 91251 PAGE 4
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Depress the Spring Release Knob (18), and pull all the way up on the Slider Knob (1). Insert one cartridge of the accessory Tabs into the Front Loading Chamber of the Tab Gun. Then, depress the Spring Release Knob (18) and push downward on the Slider Knob (1) until it locks in place. (See Figure A.) 3. Place the picture frame on a level surface with its back side facing up. Use both hands to press the Nose Piece (14) of the Tab Gun firmly against the points at which the Tabs (21) are to be driven into the inner sides of the picture frame. Squeeze the Hand Lever (17) to drive a Tab into the picture frame. Repeat this procedure until all four sides on the back of the picture frame are tabbed. Bend the Tabs upward. Insert the glass pane, picture, and cardboard backing. Then, bend the Tabs down against the cardboard backing. (See Figure B.) 4. When finished using the Tab Gun, make sure to store the tool in a safe, clean, dry location. Before each use, inspect the general condition of the Picture Frame Tab Gun. Check for broken or bent parts, loose or missing parts, and any condition that may affect the proper operation of the product. If a problem occurs, have the problem corrected before further use. Do not use damaged equipment. 2. Periodically, use a light machine oil to lubricate all moving parts. 3. When cleaning, use a clean cloth with a mild detergent. Then, dry. SKU 91251 PAGE 5
