A sampling of careers related to computer science includes database developer; computer programmer; multimedia designer; Microsoft, Unix/Linux, or Cisco network administrator; web designer; digital security administrator; and many more. Does HCC offer classes that prep me to take industry certifications? Yes, HCC offers a range of classes that help prepare students to take numerous industry certification tests such as Microsoft Certifications/MCSE, Cisco CCNA, and CompTia A+, Security+, and Network+.
How are classes offered at HCC? The Dale Mabry Campus computer science department offers oncampus, hybrid and online classes in order to meet the diverse needs of our student population.
Cisco Systems Networking Academy Our state-of-the-art Cisco Networking Academy classroom in DTEC 412 features six pods with 12 Cisco 1841 routers, 20 Cisco 2600 routers, 12 Cisco 2960 switches, 12 Catalyst 1900 switches, 25 Dell workstations, and five TFTP servers for uploading and downloading the Cisco IOS or configuration file to a router or switch. The classroom also has several workstations for telnet access to the HCC Cisco Network Academy student lab.
