Contents Objectives of the platform for geo-information in Agricolture Organisation Architecture Use Cases INSPIRE compliance Future Plans

Objectives Reuse of the Agricultural geoinformation Dissemination of geoinformation services coming from spatial processing (mainly Location Intelligence using a Geodatawarehouse) Cooperation with other entities using standards Develop an INSPIRE compliant SDI 2

SDI organisation The term Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) is often used to denote the relevant base collection of technologies, policies and institutional arrangements that facilitate the availability of and access to spatial data To make an SDI functional, it must also include the organisational agreements needed to coordinate and adminster it on a local, regional, national, and or transnational scale GSDI Cookbook, Version 2.0 25 January 2004 3

SIN SDI main organisational models Model 1: Provide services on the basis of agreements Define an agreement for services provided to an entity (e.g. a WMS service or a Web-GIS Application) which describe: users, rules to the access to data, Define functional profiles which match agreement requirements into the SDI security management console Model 2: Exchange geoinformation with other entities Define an agreement for exchange of geoinformation between SIN and another entity Define technical interfaces in terms of Web Services encoding (which must also comply with Italian SPC, the Public System of Cooperation) 4

Presentation using advanced analysis tools like BI dashboards integrated with maps (e.g. dynamic color maps, dynamic queries, proximity analysis)

Use Case 1: Emergency Application Rapid mapping products to evaluate agricultural impact of disasters (e.g. floods, fires) Farmers and Decision Makers need to assess any agro-environmental damage and impact during and immediately after flooding 9

Use Case 1: Emergency Application Flood Maps are extracted from SAR imagery Flooded areas extraction by SAR techniques: Veneto region November 2010 e-geos Flood Map, ASI Cosmo-SkyMed SAR data 10

Use Case 1: Emergency Application Intersection is shown on map and a report is produced 11

Flood map is loaded into the system from an external WFS (e.g. GMES Emergency Response Service) 2. GeoWEB application load the layer into the SDI and perform intersection calculation with land parcels 3. GDWH produces a report on the disaster by analysing real impact in terms of economics and environmental indicators

Use Case 2: GDWH analysis made available in the SDI SIN system has a huge database (e.g. orthoimages, DTM, land parcels, agrometeo sensor based data) which is made available using SDI infrastructure Land Parcels over Orthoimages as WMS 13

Use Case 2: GDWH analysis made available in the SDI GDWH maps are made available as WMS/WFS using SDI infrastructure Lithologic Maps of Italy as WMS 14

Output of GDWH processing are made available in the SDI 2. The SDI publish the results as standard services like WMS/WFS and through Web-GIS applications
