GUIDELINES FOR APPLICANTS STEP BY STEP 1. DEADLINE From 22 October 2014 to 6 March 2015 2. WHO CAN APPLY? You can apply if: you are a national of: o o a European country, or one of the following Latin American countries: Group A: Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Paraguay Group B: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, Panama, Uruguay and Venezuela; you are either currently a university student in any level of studies or have already a degree and want to continue your higher education, or if you are an academic staff; you have sufficient knowledge of the language of tuition of the courses you wish to take; you did not enjoy another Erasmus Mundus scholarship within the same programme or at the same level of studies. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR: EUROPEAN STUDENTS You must be registered in one of the EU partner institutions. Undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies at first higher education level. LATIN AMERICAN STUDENTS You have not resided or carried out your main activity (work, study, etc) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of the European countries at the time of submitting your application. This rule does not apply to TG3. Undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies at first higher education level. ACADEMIC STAFF You must work in or be associated to a HEI in an eligible country.

TARGET GROUPS In order to apply, you must belong to one of the following target groups: TG1 are the applicants that, at the moment of application, are registered and studying at one of the institutions within the partnership (see participating universities). TG2 are the applicants that, at the moment of application, either are registered in a Higher Education Institution (not included in the partnership but belonging to an eligible country) or have already graduated and obtained a university degree or equivalent from a HEI of the lot countries. This target group is not available for undergraduate students or European students. TG3 are the nationals of one of the eligible countries and are in a particularly vulnerable situation, for social or political reasons, for example: having a refugee status or asylum beneficiaries; it can be proved that they have been the object of unjustified expulsion from university on racial, ethnic, religious, political, gender or sexual inclination; belong to an indigenous population targeted by a specific national policy or internally displaced persons. Financial disadvantages or having suffered the consequences of a natural disaster cannot be considered here. Target Group 3 is not applicable to European students or academic staff. 3. Latin American applicants can study in European partner institutions. It is not possible to apply for mobility within your same continent.

4. WHAT CAN I STUDY? Each partner university offers different study programmes in each academic level (undergraduate, master, PhD, post-phd and staff mobility). You can review the academic offer at: http://www.puedes.eu/oferta. In these documents you will find the available programmes arranged by academic level and then by university. Each available programme has an URL website with further information about the study course. It is not possible to apply to a study programme not listed in the academic offer. You can only select one academic offer from each university, up to a maximum of three universities. Make sure you review the information provided by the university for the offer you are selecting and that you meet the specific admission requirements. 5. WHICH DOCUMENTS DO I NEED? You will need to submit certain documents to complete your application: Passport or ID Photograph CV (Europass template) Transcript of records Degree diploma (or proof of enrollment) Motivation letter Language certificate (if the study language is different than your mother tongue) Learning agreement (download it through the application tool). Compulsory for TG1students. It is necessary to submit as many learning agreements as applications to universities. Pre-acceptance letter (for PhD, post-doct and staff; and only a few masters) Work plan proposal and summary (for PhD, post-doct and staff) Recommendation letters (for PhD, post-doct and staff) TG3 status justification (only for TG3 students) 6. HOW DO I APPLY? 1. Go to: http://www.puedes.eu/aplicacion and register. You will need a valid email address to sign up for an account. You will receive an email with your log-in username and password. 2. Access the application form with your username and password.

3. Complete the required information. This form is only available in English. The fields marked with * are compulsory. (The information provided in these screenshots are provided as an example only) o PERSONAL INFORMATION The red sections will always appear in red. 01/01/1991 Only mark this option if you belong to TG3. o ACADEMIC INFORMATION - If you are registered at a partner university, you should mark YES and select which university. - If you are registered at a university which is not a partner, you should mark NO and write the name of the university in the box next to it. - If you are not studying at the moment, you need to select Not registered at any university at the moment.

- In this section you will need to enter the data of the studies you are carrying out at this moment or of the studies you have already completed. For example, if you are a current undergraduate student, you will need to enter the details of the studies you are carrying out and specify an approximate end date and the average grade obtained until now. However, if you have graduated already please specify the information of your last official degree obtained (undergraduate, master or PhD). - If you are applying for a staff scholarship, please select staff mobility in the box last degree obtained and then add the information of your last completed studies. - In the boxes "Minimum Mark Scale" and "Maximum Mark Scale" you will need to specify the evaluation system of your university that is to say, the minimum and maximum grade that your home university grants. For example, if the grade system goes from 1 to 5, you should mark Minimum Mark Scale 1" and "Maximum Mark Scale 5. - In the box "Mark/Grade Obtained" you need to enter your average grade obtained, and in the box "Equivalent Mark in 0-10 scale" you will need to enter your average grade obtained but in scale 0 to 10. o STUDY PROGRAMMES You can only select one academic offer from each university, up to a maximum of three. You must have completed all previous steps in order to be able to select the academic programmes. - In this step you will need to select the study programmes that you wish to apply to by clicking on go to Academic Offer and then selecting the universities and study programmes. You will have access to a the details of the programmes with an URL and the key requirements. - Once you have selected a programme it will appear as favourite in ( My favourites ). You can select up to 10 favourite programmes. You will then need to select the final programmes by clicking on select. This will carry your selections to the top blue box (minimum one programme and maximum three). You will then need to specify the months you are applying for each programme in the green box. - You will need to apply for the next level of studies relevant to you.

o DOCUMENTOS In order to be able to upload your documents you will need to have completed all the previous steps. Otherwise, this section will appear blank. In order to upload different diplomas, letters or certificates in the same section, you will need to put them together in one document. The recommended format is pdf. Required documents: - CV. The required format is Europass, and it can be downloaded from: https://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/es/documents/curriculum-vitae/templates-instructions. It must be written in English or in the language the studies will be carried out. - Passport. It is recommended to upload a valid passport. If you cannot, you can apply with your national ID. - Language certificates. You will need to upload the language certificates that support your applications to study in a different language. You can also upload any other language certificate. If you are going to study in your mother tongue you do not need to upload a certificate but you need to upload a blank page. - Motivation letter. It is recommended to submit one letter for each academic programme you are applying to, highlighting the academic or research motives. It must be written in English or in the language the studies will be carried out.

- Transcript of records. This document should show the subjects taken during your university studies and the grades obtained as well as your average grade. You can submit the transcripts of all your university studies. - Last certificate. You shall submit you university degrees. If you have not completed your studies yet, you will need to upload the registration slip or a certificate from your university specifying that you are a current student there and the approximate end date. If you have completed your studies but you do not have your degree yet, you will need to upload a certificate from your university stating that you have completed your studies and your degree is being processed. - Learning agreement. This document can be downloaded in this section, under the selection box. This agreement must show the subjects you would take during your mobility period in the host university. If you are a TG1 student you will need to complete this document with your home university and it must carry the corresponding seal and signature. At this moment it is not necessary to have the host university sign this document, since this would be done only if you are granted the scholarship. If you are a TG2 student, this document is not compulsory and it does not need to be signed; only the subjects would need to be specified. In this last case you can upload a blank page if you do not wish to submit this document. - Photo. Passport or ID size. PhD, post-doctoral and staff applicants must also upload the following documents: - Thesis sumary. You will need to provide information about the research that you are carrying out or would like to carry out, including the most important aspects summarized: topic, goals and temporal planning. This section is not necessary for staff mobilities. - Work plan. You will need to upload a detailed proposal of the tasks you would carry out during your mobility. This proposal should include the topic, research area, methodology, goals, planning and any other relevant aspect. There is not a template for this. - Pre-acceptance letter. For these types of mobilities you must obtain a pre-acceptance letter from the coordinator of the study programme or corresponding department. For this you must send your CV, previous degrees and your work plan to the appropriate department. The contact details can be found in the information provided in the academic offer.

o CONFIRMACIÓN. You will need to confirm that the information provided is correct by clicking on Yes I do and then send your application by clicking in the bottom blue button Submit the application form. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Applications sent by mail, fax or e-mail will not be accepted Incomplete applications or with unreadable attachments will not be considered eligible In the application process it is sufficient to submit provisional certificates. Original documents or certified copies need to be provided only if the applicant is selected.
