Minneapolis Public Schools Early Childhood Screening is a check on how your child is growing and developing. We screen children ages 3-5 years. Early Childhood Screening is required for entrance into kindergarten. D At your child s screening a trained professional will check your child s: health history, shot records, vision, hearing, height, weight, large and small muscles, thinking, language and communication skills and social and emotional development. ECFE Home Visits ECFE home visitors are trained in the Parents as Teachers model for home visiting. CommuNiTY CoNNECTioNS Early Childhood Education Community Connections minneapolis ECE is committed to serving all minneapolis families with children ages birth to kindergarten enrollment. We work in partnership with other mps and community programs to meet families where they are. Each partnership is unique and helps us reach young families in different ways. MPS Programs MPS Teen Parent Services (TPS) These programs are open to any minneapolis Public Schools student who is currently pregnant or parenting. The programs provide on-site childcare, transportation, prenatal and parenting education, and support services for student parents who are continuing their high school education in both traditional and alternative school settings. Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) serves students from birth to kindergarten identified as having a developmental delay (DD) or other disability. Screening for ECSE evaluation is available by calling 612.348.ToTS (8687). Eligibility is determined through evaluation by minneapolis Public Schools. Three School a half day preschool program for minneapolis children who live in north minneapolis (from West broadway to 35th ave. N., and from Penn ave. Parents who are program participants are welcome to join their area Parent advisory Council (PaC). The Parent advisory Councils meet monthly to advise and support minneapolis ECFE. New members are always welcome. This is a wonderful opportunity to enhance the program and make connections with other ECFE families!
