D., Director Dear Colleague, We are pleased to offer you a graduate program in Bilingual Education that will make your credentials more valuable by adding an extension to your current certification. Job security offers peace of mind. A bilingual extension to your existing school counselor or school psychologist certification can help you keep your job or obtain another one. This program offered through The College of New Rochelle Graduate School is a practical, affordable, and convenient way to succeed in your career. It is practical because the demand for school personnel with bilingual certification will continue to increase as more non-english native language speakers enter our local schools. The Bilingual Education program can improve your skills and your ability to work with these students making you a valuable member of the education team. It is affordable because you pay only $1260 for each 3-credit course. It is convenient because the courses are offered on weekends and vacation weekdays, not on days when you are tired from working the whole day. Also, CITE and CNR bring all but one course to a location near you. Practical, affordable, and convenient! Sign up now! For more information, visit www.citeonline.com. Thank you. James F. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The College of New Rochelle s Multilingual/Multicultural Education programs recognize the diversity of linguistic backgrounds and cultures which characterize the children and families in schools in the New York metropolitan area. Our programs stress language and linguistics, teaching methodology, cultural awareness, and understanding of special developmental needs of native language learners. We prepare our graduates to teach in the pre-kindergarten, elementary, and secondary grades (Pre-K-12). Through the knowledge, skills, and cultural sensitivities offered by the program, prospective teachers are enabled to address the needs of children whose primary language is other than English. COURSE LOCATIONS AND SCHEDULING A full program schedule can be obtained by visiting www.cnratcite.com. Students will move through the program in groups called cohorts. You remain with the cohort through the completion of your degree. TUITION Each 3 credit course will cost $1,260. Payment should be made directly to The College of New Rochelle. Financial aid, in the form of loans, is available through The College of New Rochelle Financial Aid office for eligible students. Course tuition is subject to annual percentage increase. TRANSFER CREDITS The number of transfer credits for this program is 20% of the total program credits which would be considered upon admission to the program.
