Assessment Assessment and Evaluation Services The Saint John Vianney Center provides comprehensive assessment and evaluation services to identify psychological and spiritual challenges for Dioceses and Religious Communities. A Clinical Assessment determines an individual s need for behavioral health and/or addictive disease treatment. Conducted by our inter-disciplinary team, the individual s physical, behavioral, emotional and spiritual wellness is reviewed. A plan is developed to restore the individual to their highest level of functioning. A Risk Assessment determines the likelihood of future behaviors that would violate legal or canonical expectations. This information assists Dioceses and Religious Communities in the determination of future ministries for the person assessed. The risk assessment is part of a comprehensive evaluation that addresses behavioral, emotional, physical and spiritual levels of functioning. It includes a forensic interview, specific psychological testing and a polygraph examination. The results are categorized as Low, Medium, to High. The inter-disciplinary assessment team provides a comprehensive evaluation and recommendations to further reduce risk and improve the individual's quality of life. A Pastoral Assessment covers multiple domains of spiritual development, functioning and challenges including faith life from its earliest roots, formation/discernment, how faith and spirituality are being experienced and expressed now, how the individual is doing relative to their peers, community living and interpersonal relationships. The individual will gain a better understanding of how he/she relates to God and others and how to live out their desired ministry most effectively. A Seminary and Religious Life Candidate Assessment identifies psychological conditions that could potentially compromise an individual s participation in religious life, formation, and subsequent capacity for effective ministry. A wide range of areas are assessed in order to achieve decision making clarity and personal insight. For more information on the assessments provided by the Saint John Vianney Center or to set up an appointment, please call 888.993.8885. Treatment and Resources for Clergy and Religious
