Name of Unit: Graduate and Professional Studies Enrollment Assessed by: Doug Gregory Date (Assessment Cycle): 2012-2013 Mission Statement: The mission of Graduate and Professional Studies Enrollment is to enroll students by recruiting, advising, and supporting them with individual attention, understanding, and respect from the initial inquiry to the achievement of their educational goals. Unit Goals: 1. To recruit potential students who meet the admission requirements. 2. To help navigate current and prospective students through the enrollment process. 3. To provide effective communication and assistance to students during their educational experience. 1 P a g e

Expected Performance Outcomes Means of Assessment & Criteria for Success Summary of Data Collected Use of Results Goal 1: Increase the use of telemarketers Increase the number of telemarketers by 1-2 persons to build an emotion-friendly service to prospective students. For a period of six months, GPS utilized one telemarketer to reach out to prospective students and companies that offer tuition assistance. Although we were able to meet the criteria set with respect to increasing the use of telemarketers we were not able to retain individuals on a permanent basis. Will provide 1-2 professional development trainings per year on marketing and recruitment. GPS was able to schedule and offer a marketing seminar for its recruiters during the FY 12-13. We have agreed to continue to scheduling additional professional development trainings for each fiscal year. Increase our first impressions. We will redesign our office environment by adding several new pictures, new carpet, and paint. New pictures and painting was completed fall 2012. Although the painting project has enhanced the entrance area of the GPS office the carpet project is delayed due to financial constraints. We will continue to look to ways to make our office area as welcoming as possible. We will increase the number of campus signs for information meetings by 4. Acquired five tent signs for the use of advertisement and flow of direction for first time prospective students to our information meetings. Although we were able to meet the criteria set we will continue to monitor current and seek new ways to increase Malone first impression to potential students. Will improve website navigation and flow of information. Improvements to website Home Page completed fall 2012. With the completion of the website we are experiencing a learning curve which requires continued education of website access and user ability for staff and potential students. 2 P a g e

Generated Inquiries: Through the distribution of GPS Enrollment Weekly Reports we will increase by 3% the number of inquiries for each program (2 Degree Completion and 6 Graduate) as determined by GPS Enrollment and each program director from the previous FY. MMP: inquiries decreased by 33% RN2BSN: inquiries decreased by 28% MSN: inquiries decreased by 24% MA Counsel: inquiries decreased by 16% MATS: inquiries decreased by 23% MBA: inquiries increased by 16% MAOL: inquiries increased by 21% MAEd: inquiries decreased by 12% Data collected in this assessment cycle with respect to the various programs does not exceed the level of criteria set. To accommodate differences in programs and to ensure proper monitoring, we have also decided to adopt program-specific criteria. This requires our continuous collaboration with program directors and marketing team to discuss strategies essential to building higher levels of inquiry pool. Degree Completion information meetings: Through the distribution of GPS Enrollment Weekly Reports we will increase by 2% the number of inquiries for each program as determined by GPS Enrollment and each program director from the previous FY. MMP: inquiries decreased by 20% RN2BSN: inquiries decreased by 70% Data collected showed that we did not meet criteria set. We have agreed to continue to schedule and make available monthly information meetings. Consideration will be given to the development of an online Degree Completion information meeting where prospective students would have online access at their convenience to a recorded information meeting. We have agreed to continue to schedule and make available monthly information meetings. Consideration will be given to the development of an online information meeting where prospective students would have online access at their convenience to a recorded information meeting. We have also agreed to contact all prospective students who rsvp d to remind them of the meeting. Name Acquisition: Will contact at least 2 to 4 twoyear schools to obtain graduation lists between FY 12-13. Self-reported: Contacted 6 two-year schools to obtain graduation lists between FY 12-13. We have agreed to continue reaching out to regional two-year schools to maintain relationship and potential articulation agreements. Will also obtain currently registered students lists from two-year schools for direct mailings. Application Rate: Through the distribution of GPS Enrollment Weekly Reports applications received will exceed 40% of students who have inquired between FY 12-13 and will be compared to the previous MMP: Applications increased to 38%. RN2BSN: Applications decreased to 23%. MSN: Applications decreased to 42%. MA Counsel: Applications increased to 33%. MATS: Applications decreased to 16%. MBA: Applications decreased to 30%. MAOL: Applications increased to 37%. MAEd: Applications increased to 55%. Data collected in this assessment cycle did not exceed the level of criteria set with respect to the various programs. We have agreed to continue assisting potential students to move from the inquiry to application stage by developing more frequent follow up calls and emails. During this process we will address concerns and questions. 4 P a g e

Acceptance Rate: Through the distribution of GPS Enrollment Weekly Reports the number of students that move from the application stage to the accepted stage will exceed 80% between FY 12-13 and will be compared to the previous MMP: Accepts decreased to 86%. RN2BSN: Accepts increased to 77% MSN: Accepts increased to 71%. MA Counsel: Accepts increased to 87%. MATS: Accepts decreased to 60% MBA: Accepts increased to 90%. MAOL: Accepts increased to 96%. MAEd: Accepts increased to 100%. Data collected in this assessment cycle slightly exceeds the level of criteria set with respect to the various programs. We have agreed to continue assisting potential students to move from the application to acceptance stage through personal contact making them aware of the status of the application, explaining needed application documents how to submit this information, and providing information on financing an education. Goal 3: Will make all required changes to aid current students to successfully meet their expected graduation plan. Will provide guidance for all students on their graduation expectations. All students who requested special information on graduation expectations were assisted.
