Deck and Hull As with all Nimble boats, use of vacuum-bagged foam core, laminated with fiberglass, provides a high-strength, very tough hull. Coda was designed with a narrow beam so that she could be easily driven by a small fuel "sipping" diesel engine. The beam measurements combined with the draft, allow ease of trailering without special permits. A long, straight keel, and modern bow entry, rapidly gaining her maximum beam which is carried well aft has a duel benefit: excellent sea keeping and maximized room. The deck and hull are sealed and bolted together with stainless hardware, then the bolts and nuts are sealed again for assurance against leaks.
