This paper illustrates the divination records of Chen Xing and analyzes the transition of planetary astrology at the turn of Tang and Song dynasty. During the late Tang dynasty and the Five dynasties the western divination concepts and methods including Jiu Yao nine luminaries Shi Yi Yao eleven luminaries were widely spread and used in China. The new planetary astrology and local planetary astrology became two development lines since mediaeval times. According to the investigation the letter was written in the winter of 1679 by Gu Yanwu in Taiyuan to Wang Hongzhuan. The letter mentioned something that was not known much by previous researches.
