4 Channel DMX LED Strip Driver v.1 This versatile 4 Channel DMX LED Controller with external LED display is perfect for building custom DMX-512 Controlled LED Lights from 12 volt LED Strip, either single color type or RGB type, or high-power LEDs or LED arrays regulated with resistors. Many Options are selected using the external LED display with 2 buttons, such as DMX Reception Mode, PWM rate, DMX Master/Slave Options, DMX Receiving Address, Stand-Alone Options, and more. Options can be easily and quickly selected without needing to reference a manual or diagram as with DIP switches. Multiple DMX Reception modes can be selected to customize the device to the users needs, such as RGB(3 channel) legacy mode. Features: - Small Size 2.75 x 2 x 0.5 (tall) - 4 LED Channels, for RGB+W/U.V. - DMX-512 Connectivity, reception at 40 to 44 Frames / second (DMX Max is 44 Frames/sec) - Versatile, any common anode configuration of LEDs can work, high current, high voltage - User Selected multiple DMX Reception Modes(3,4,5 Channel + Features) - User Selectable PWM Rate, 960hz, 2khz, 15khz, 31khz(Suitable for rolling shutter cameras) - High Current Sink Outputs(LED Configuration as Common Anode, see pg. 4) - Hardware Short Protection/Over Current protected Outputs(Model B) - External 3 Digit LED Display with 2 buttons for adjusting the hardware and configuration Options and to set the DMX address(no DIP switches used, easy to read) - MonoMotion Software Compatibility, connection via 3-pin header Create and upload custom stand-alone sequences to the controller from a computer. Configure them using the Options menu, control the device over USB or serial. Contact Support@ChromationSystems.com for Help DMX Transmission Modes No DMX Transmission, recieves normally DMX Transmits when in Stand Alone Mode, Transmits the DMX channels as it would receive them(in 3 and 4 Channel Mode, else it sends 4 channels) to the current address the device is set to. ex: If DMX Address is set to 4 and DMX Reception is set to 3 channel Mode, transmitted channels 1-3 would be 0, 4,5,6 would be the same as output channels 1-3. DMX Transmits when in Stand Alone Mode, transmits the value of the output channels to all DMX address. ex: DMX Channels 1-4, 5-8, 9-12 would all be the same as the output channels on the Master Device. Stand-Alone Modes Description When DMX signal is lost, device holds the last recieved values. When DMX signal is lost, outputs turn off(blank) When DMX signal is lost, device starts playing the uploaded sequence, which can be user created. Both cycling patterns and flash(instant change) patterns can be created using the MonoMotion Software.
LEDs and Configuration This controller s outputs sink current, meaing the cathode of the LED or LED string is connected to the controller and the anode is connected directly to the source voltage. The required source voltage is based on the configuration of LEDs. Several options of LEDs can be controlled, either standard 12 volt LED strips or 12 volt RGB LED strips, Series/Parallel or Single High Wattage LEDs (1w, 3w, 5w, 10w, 20w, +more up to max specification) with a resistor to limit current, Series/Parallel or Single 10mm, 5mm LEDs or smaller. Most any kind of LEDs can be controlled, including common anode(common cathode can NOT be controlled) Need help or have questions?
