Materials Required - This manual, Part number 47X256 - Kit # 48X870 or 48X871 Containing: (Depending on application) (1) 54X221-228.22 Ohm resistor (1) 2X7057-1 or 2X7056-1 DSP Micro Board (Depending on application) (1) 2X7067 right side string sensor (1) 54x222-181 180Ohm resistor sip (1) 54x205-432 4.3K Ohm Resistor (1) 54x205-202 2.0K Ohm Resistor (1) 49X315 cleaning card - 49X307 calibration card - Medium sized Phillips (Cross Point) Screwdriver - Soldering Iron & Solder - Wire Cutters - Computer with Hyper Terminal and functional serial port - DB-25M to DB-25F serial cable - Some applications may require DB-9 to DB-25 Converter - Acceptor chassis - 12-15VDC power supply with 2 pin connector. (Supply from host machine would be ideal) - About 15 Minutes each for experienced technician About 45 Minutes each for inexperienced technician 11/09/01 4

1 Disassembly 1.1 Remove note entrance 1.2 Remove (6) screws and remove front plate 1.3 Remove stacker motor and string sensor connections (See Below) 11/09/01 5

1.4 Remove stacker motor assembly 1.5 Remove motor drive / power supply board connectors. 1.6 Remove motor drive / power supply mounting screw. (See Below) 11/09/01 6

1.7 Remove remaining motor connectors and remove motor driver board as shown below 1.8 Remove (3) screws on transport motor (see above) and remove motor 1.9 Remove all remaining connections inside unit (below) (Item 1 is transport tach, Item 2 are (2) ribbon cables, Item 3 is 14 position I/O cable and Item 4 is 20 pin ribbon cable) 11/09/01 7

1.10 Remove microprocessor board by gently pulling up on two plastic clips while pulling board away from side plate. 1.11 Remove right side string sensor by removing two screws and gently lifting wire holder to remove string sensor. Install new 2X7067 string sensor in its place 11/09/01 8

2 Power Supply Update 2.1 On 13V power supplies part number 2X6794 change R2 from.33 Ohm to a 54X221-228.22 Ohm. (R2 is boxed in) 2.2 On power supply part number 2X6491, no change is needed 2.3. On 24V power supply 2X6637, 2.3.1. Change R16 from.33 Ohm to a 54X221-228.22 Ohm (R16 is boxed in) 2.3.2. Change R1 to 54x222-181 180 Ohm resistor sip 2.3.3. Change R15 to 54x205-432 4.3K Ohm resistor 2.3.4. Change R13 to 54x205-202 2.0K Ohm resistor 11/09/01 9

2.4. Power supply part number 2X6819 has not been approved for the Eagle Update No other power supplies have been qualified by ARDAC engineering for use with EAGLE DSP boards. 3 Install New DSP Micro and Reassemble 3.1 Place micro board on bottom board clips with the two red connectors to the left as shown. (Make sure string sensor wire is behind micro board and left of front board clip) a. A 2X7057-1 board replaces a 2X6551 Standard WACS, EPROM inside b. A 2X7056-1 board replaces a 2X6551 WACS, EPROM outside 3.2 Gently clip new micro board into top board clips 3.3 Reconnect stacker TACH connector and two red connectors on left as shown: 11/09/01 11

Connect right connector rotated 90 degrees and the key and red stripe will be on the top as shown below: 3.4 Reinstall the transport motor and LOOSELY install 3 fine thread motor screws. 3.5 Pull motor away from larger gear to set gear lash 3.6 While pulling motor away, tighten the three motor screws 3.7 Reinstall motor driver / power supply mounting screw with one 4-40 screw (below) 3.8 Reconnect motor driver / power supply connectors. Connector with orange/white and green wires should go closest to large L298 Motor drive chip. Red and black wires go, closest to micro board. 3.9 Reconnect cables to micro board 3.10 Reinstall stacker motor assembly 3.11 Reconnect stacker motor, tach and all other connections 11/09/01 12

4 Recalibrate and retest 4.1 Connect DB-25F (Or DB-9F) on chassis harness to functional serial port on P.C. 4.2 Set switches according to following table for options installed. 4.3 Following figure is for locating switches and does not reflect actual settings. 4.4 Set the switches as follows: SW1-1 OFF - ACCEPT NOTE 1 ON - INHIBIT NOTE 1 (LOWEST DENOMINATION) SW1-2 OFF - ACCEPT NOTE 2 ON - INHIBIT NOTE 2 SW1-3 OFF - ACCEPT NOTE 3 ON - INHIBIT NOTE 3 SW1-4 OFF - ACCEPT NOTE 4 ON - INHIBIT NOTE 4 SW1-5 OFF - ACCEPT NOTE 5 ON - INHIBIT NOTE 5 SW1-6 OFF - ACCEPT NOTE 6 ON - INHIBIT NOTE 6 SW1-7 OFF - ACCEPT NOTE 7 ON - INHIBIT NOTE 7 SW1-8 OFF - ACCEPT NOTE 8 ON - INHIBIT NOTE 8 (HIGHEST DENOMINATION) 11/09/01 14

If these settings do not work for your application, contact IGT or Money Controls to receive the release document for your particular firmware. 4.5 System should look like this when assembled: 4.6. Connect DB-25F (Or DB-F) connector on chassis to functional serial port on computer. 4.7 Install the ARDAC II Host simulator program on the computer. 4.8 Start the host simulator program, verify that Q s are scrolling across the bottom of the screen 4.9 If Q s are not scrolling across the screen hit <F3> then <ENTER> to start scrolling 4.10 Hit <F3> and arrow up to Communications options then hit <ENTER> 4.11 Arrow to the communications port that has the acceptor attached and hit <ENTER> 4.12. Apply power to the acceptor and information should be scrolled down the right side of the screen 4.13 Stacker should cycle once at power up and a second time after a few seconds. 4.14. Right window should display IDLE 4.15 Hit <F3>, Hit <G>, Hit <ENTER>, Hit <F4>, Hit <ENTER> Text should appear on your screen. 4.16 Hit <V> to get voltage display, verify that screen says Calibration Passed 4.17 Use a cleaning card Money Controls part number 49X315 4.18 Hold card about 5 inches from the end that will be inserted into acceptor 4.19 Insert card and hold it tightly so that the belts will draw it in and then slip on the card cleaning off any dirt or film. 11/09/01 15

4.20 Repeat as needed until belts appear to be clean. 4.21 Type <A> <C> <A> <L> to start auto calibration. 4.22 Use ARDAC Calibration card part number 49X307 to recalibrate 4.23 When prompted, insert calibration card as shown. 4.24 Verify that the trailing edge of the calibration card is pulled inside the acceptor (or almost inside) during the calibration process. 4.25 Verify that display shows Calibration Passed 4.26 Insert notes and verify that they are accepted and proper denomination is displayed on the screen. 4.27 Install into host machine or host simulator. Insert notes and verify that the machine credits properly. 11/09/01 16
