I am originally from Montreal and was Director of Bilingualism and Translation in 2014-2015. I had such a wonderful and exciting year and now look forward to our 2015-2016 adventure as an association. We have a strong board with creative ideas and strong leadership. I hope that you will look into our many committees and share your passions and ideas with us. One of my roles as CNSA president is to sit on the CNA Board of Directors. I will also be chairing the Advocacy committee and will be helping with the setup of our Adhoc committee for Aboriginal health. If you are interested in sitting on either of these committees I would love to hear from you. Our strength is in our members so I encourage everyone to find their passion and get involved! I wish you all the best this spring in your studies and with your CNSA chapters! You can contact me at president@cnsa.ca. I am happy to have the opportunity to be the 2015-2016 CNSA s Director of Communications. My experience as the 2014-2015 Informatics Committee Chair helped me transition to this new role. I have been busy working with the CNSA s Executive Committee (EC) President, Vice President, Director of Communications, and Administrative Officer by attending weekly phone meetings and official monthly EC meetings, in addition to the board of directors meeting. I provide support to delegates and BOD members, manage the delegate and BOD e-mail list, and act as the official meeting minute taker. I supervise the Informatics Committee Officer and together we co-manage CNSA s official website and social media accounts. I also collaborate with the Informatics Officer and Administrative Officer with the website redevelopment plan. The Director of Communication sits on the Canadian Federation of Nurses Union (CFNU) s Board of Directors as CNSA s official representative. I will be attending the CFNU Biennial Convention this June 1-5, 2015 in Halifax, NS. My current project that I initiated is the CNSA s National Quarterly newsletter to improve communication between CNSA Board of Directors and CNSA general members. If you are interested on helping out with a national newsletter or enhancing communication within the association, please contact me at communications@cnsa.ca. See you at the next regional and national conference! Past President: Rajet Anand, McGill University, Montreal, QC Dear CNSA members, My name is Rajet Anand, and your 2015-2016 CNSA Past President. I am almost done my last year of the BScN at McGill University. I have been involved with CNSA for over three years now. In fact, it is my passion for change and having peoples views heard that got me involved in CNSA, as I knew it was a medium for change. I felt the need to represent students and defend their interests on a national level. I initially got involved as the Quebec Regional Director, which gave me invaluable experience that I carried forward into my position as the 2014-2015 CNSA President. As your current Past President, I am delighted to be in an advisory role for an amazing Board of Directors, and executive committee. Furthermore, the upcoming year is going to be extensive and meaningful for the association, as we will undergo strategic planning. I am proud to be chairing the Strategic Planning Committee. I also chair the Governance Committee. If you would like to contribute and actively get involved in any of the committees mentioned above, please contact me at pastpresident@cnsa.ca Director of Membership Services: Lourdes Cua, Langara College, Vancouver, BC Hi everyone, my name is Lourdes Cua and I am a 4th year nursing student at the Langara College School of Nursing. I am currently in the process of looking for gyms that will be accessible for the majority of our membership.
