Dear SCORAngels, We would like to have you as our guests in SCORA XChange organized by TurkMSIC Turkey in July in Istanbul. AIMS To improve medical knowledge of cancers of the reproductive system including Ovarian Cancer, Cervical Cancer and Uterine Cancer. To improve medical knowledge of male health. To improve knowledge of newborn care. To improve knowledge of social stigma. PARTICIPATION & CONDITIONS The maximum number of participants in SCORA XChange Turkey in July will be 10. Hosting local committee is Istanbul Local Committee, which is a member of TurkMSIC (and IFMSA) for over sixty years.
Turkish Medical Students International Committee TurkMSIC is the biggest student organisation in Turkey, which was founded by medical students in 1952 and is a full member of IFMSA since then. It represents more than 40000 medical students in Turkey with its 50 local committees.

İncir Reçeli (Fig Jam) is a Turkish film about HIV/AIDS July 9th - Meeting with Positive Living Association PLA has been founded in order to build a network among people living with HIV/AIDS to ensure that they have better access to treatment, to improve their living standards, to strengthen them and their relatives physically, psychologically and socially, to carry out advocacy activities in case of violation of legal rights and to raise public awareness about HIV/AIDS PLA has members from all sectors of the society including people living with HIV/AIDS, their relatives and friends, doctors, faculty staff, counselors and activists.
Week #2 Department of Gynaecological Oncology, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine Subject Area: Cancers of Reproductive Systems Duration: 5 days July 13th: Meeting with Professor Dr. Şahika Yüksel MD July 16th: SCORA Film Night! Atlıkarınca(Merry-Go-Round) is an award winning Turkish film about incest and sexual abuse of children. Week #3 Department of Infections, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine Subject Area: HIV and other STDs Duration: 5 days July 19th: Meeting with Red Umbrella. Red Umbrella Sexual Health and Human Rights Association is a NGO working with transgender, female and male sex workers.
July 21st: SCORA Film Night Le Fate Ignoranti( Ignorant Fairies or His Secret Life) is an Italian film about a woman who discovers her recently deceased husband had been having an affair. July 23rd: Method Exchange Week #4 Department of Pediatrics, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine Subject Area: Neonatal Care Time: 5 days July 28th: SCORA Film Night C.R.A.Z.Y. is a Canadian film about a young man dealing with homophobia while growing up with four brothers and a conservative father.

Fee The participation fee is 300 EUR and covers accomodation, (between 1st and 31st of July) at least 1 meal per day and the entrance fees for following parts of social programme: National Food & Drink Party, Galata Tower, Eminönü - New Mosque, Karaköy, Minatürk, Pierre Loti, Eyüp, Dolmabahçe Palace, Ortaköy, Bosphorus Tour, Basilica Cistern, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Atatürk Botanical Garden, Princess' Islands, Emirgan - Bebek - Arnavutköy, Gülhane Park, Maiden's Tower, Turkish Bath, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Rumeli Fortress, Sisha Place, Çamlıca, Kadıköy - Moda, Beyazıt, Süleymaniye Mosque, Sapphire Tower, Closing Party Fee does not include transportation expenses inside or outside the country, visa expenses and health insurance. Deadline for payment is 8th of June 2015. Once you are qualified, you will be informed of TurkMSIC Turkey s bank account. Please note that the payment has to be made without any costs to the receiver (TurkMSIC), otherwise the payment shall be considered invalid. Citizens of most of the countries do not need a visa to come to Turkey. If you need a visa to come to Turkey please contact the closest Turkish Embassy.
