Making the most of your RIBA Chartered Practice profile As an RIBA Chartered Practice, you can access benefits and services that will promote your organisation, give you access to the latest knowledge and information and provide you with invaluable business support services. This includes referrals from the RIBA Client Service Team, an unbiased, personalised, free service for potential clients from across the world. You can also benefit from entry in the Online RIBA Chartered Practice Directory, the annual RIBA printed directory of RIBA Chartered Practices known as The List, plus the other printed sector directories which are produced throughout the year. The data we use for doing tailor-made searches and for producing the directories is directly taken from the project information you provide on your practice pages on architecture.com To update your data you will need to go to the home page of architecture.com and click on the member login - a red oblong in the black banner. You can log on using your personal membership number and password or as a guest, in which case you will need to log-on, provide some information and ask the main contact for your practice to link you with your practice.
You will see a menu on the left side of the screen. Click on My Membership: Again on the left side you will see Manage my Chartered Practice Details, click on this:
In the centre of the screen you will see a grey box with your practice name, click on this. This will then take you to you the page where you can update all* your practice details, including adding projects: *You can update all your details on line except for your practice name.
Our clients find it reassuring to know that a practice has had previous experience in a sector which is appropriate to their project. This is why it is important to demonstrate sector experience in a relevant project. To increase your chances of receiving Client Services referrals and for your practice to show the correct sector dots the annual RIBA printed directory of RIBA Chartered Practices known as The List and the other sector directories we publish throughout the year please upload a range of projects and select the applicable sectors. You can feature up to 10 projects, with an image for each, which will be visible to us and to members of the public who use our site to search for practices. You can upload an unlimited number of other projects which you can then swap in and out with any of the 10 key projects. These additional projects are not visible in on-line searches, but we see them in the office and are of enormous help when doing tailor-made searches and looking at previous project experience. You cannot add an image for an other project, but will be able to do so if you chose to move it to the key project sector. You will need to bump down a project from the key projects area (if you already have 10) in order to insert a new project from the other list. You can chose more than one sector for each project. For example, if you have adapted a house for a disabled user you can chose Houses and Housing - conversions and extensions and Houses and Housing building for the disabled. Select as many sector areas that are appropriate for your project. You can include projects which are yet to be completed, or will not be completed, feasibility studies and competitions. Always include a project description and think about specific key words and phrases you use to describe your project. We can free-text search on the description so if your project involved the excavation of a basement to provide a swimming pool, say so. You can even include projects from your previous employment experience, so long as you have permission of your previous employer and do not make the project webviewable. Regularly updating your information is important in three ways. 1. It feeds the information we use to search for practices when we are asked for a tailored-search by clients. 2. It is visible to clients who chose to do their own search on-line. 3. Information that you include will mean that you are automatically, correctly featured in the RIBA Directory of Chartered Practices and in the relevant sector directories throughout the year.
