Low Income and Affordable Housing: The County of Los Angeles Housing Authority provides Section 8 vouchers for those looking for a reduced rent based on income. HUD/Section 8 may also be used to pay mobile home space rent. You can either contact Los Angeles County Housing Authority at 562-247- 4663, or come to the Joslyn Center to be placed on the waiting list.. Assisted living residences and convalescent facilities do not accept HUD Section 8. Please consult with you physician or Elder Link (free referral service at 800-613-5772). You may also request a referral list from Wise Senior Services Long Term Care Ombudsman at 626-793-3510. Basic amenities include meals, daily activities, exercise programs and transportation to scheduled outings or appointments.
