CGMP and Snooping Switches Support Matrix The following table provides information regarding Cisco Group Management Protocol (CGMP) and Interior Gateway Management Protocol () feature support in Cisco switches. Platform 6000 - OS (CatOS) 6000- Cisco CGMP Default 5000 Yes (2.2). Disabled. 4000 (2948G/4912G/2980G) - CatOS (Supervisor Engine 1/2) 4000 - Cisco (Supervisor Engine 2+/3/4/5) 3550 Yes (2.2). Snooping Yes (4.1) (3). Disabled. Default Enabled (since 5.5.9 and 6.3.1). V3 Yes (7.5) (2). 12.1(8a)E). Disabled. EW).

(1) The CGMP server feature is in Multilayer Switch Feature Card (MSFC), MSFC2, 4000 Supervisor Engine III/IV and 3550 and 3750 switches. The CGMP L2 feature is (2) On 6500s, before software release 6.3(10), an Version 3 (V3) packet with more than one group in the same packet was discarded. This has been rectified in software

Cisco - Multicast Switches Support Matrix Page 4 of 8 release 6.3(10). releases 6.3(x) run Version 2 (V2), and there is no support for V3. An V3 report is treated as a set of V2 reports for each of the multicast groups forming the group records in V3. This happens regardless of the filter mode of the V3 report. Refer to Cisco bug ID CSCdw61628 ( registered customers only) for more information. V3 is beginning with version 7.5 software (only in Supervisor Engine II-based 6500 systems), and Cisco 12.1(11b)E1 or later is required on the MSFC2. (3) For 5000s, Supervisor Engine II G or III G, or Supervisor Engine III with a NetFlow Feature Card (NFFC) or NFFC II, is required for support. Supervisor Engine software release 4.1 or later is required. Certain hardware requires a later version of software. (For example, the NFFC II requires software release 4.3 or later.) (4) Constrained Multicast Flooding (CMF) is a Cisco method of performing. It was created for Cisco Layer 3 switches.
