The Pine Rivers Art Gallery exhibition program will be taken into consideration in the Expression of Interest evaluation process. There a 12 spaces available every year Artists to provide all label information one month before the exhibition opening. Pine Rivers Art Gallery will promote each exhibition in conjunction with the overall exhibition program. Pine Rivers Art Gallery will provide professional support in the installation and exhibition design. 2
1. Introduction PINE RIVERS ART GALLERY THE WINDOW GALLERY Artists, arts organisations and community cultural groups are invited to submit an Expression of Interest to present an exhibition of art, sculpture, installation work, photography, 3D works, ceramics, sculpture, cultural heritage, fabric and textile art, video/multi media film and products from community cultural projects at the Window Gallery in the Pine Rivers Art Gallery throughout 2017. The vision of the Pine Rivers Art Gallery is to provide a facility that serves as a vibrant and creative centre for the arts, for the use and enjoyment of the Moreton Bay region community and beyond. The main aims of the Window Gallery in the Pine Rivers Art Gallery are: To encourage, promote and showcase all levels of artistic and cultural expression, within the arts community of Moreton Bay region. To include a diversity of exhibitions and activities that present arts practices within the Australian art scene and beyond. About the Pine Rivers Art Gallery The Pine Rivers Art Gallery is a dynamic exhibition space with a strong commitment to representing local arts in the Moreton Bay region. The gallery hosts a diverse program of contemporary exhibitions, from solo exhibitions to large collaborative events. With every exhibition the gallery strives to engage the community in meaningful ways. About the Window Gallery The Window Gallery is available for use by community arts organisations and individual artists/artisans through an expression of interest. Expressions of Interest are evaluated by a panel of professional staff members. Expressions of Interest open for the 2017 calendar are now open. 2. Terms and Conditions 1. The Pine Rivers Art Gallery delivers an exhibition program that reflects diversity of art-form, cultural expression and relevance to community. 2. The Window Gallery is available only for art exhibitions. 3. Gallery window dimensions and a sample image of a window display at the venue are attached. 4. The Window Gallery is available for bookings of a calendar month period and is viewable from outside of the gallery premises. 5. All applications will be considered on the quality of work submitted, concept, suitability and appropriateness. Pine Rivers Art Gallery Art exhibition program will be taken into consideration in the Expression of Interest evaluation process. 6. The selection panel reserves the right to accept or reject any Expression of Interest or artwork. 7. Applicants exhibition dates will need to be flexible allowing the Gallery to program vibrant and diverse of exhibitions for the benefit of the community throughout the year. 8. Works of art can be made available for sale through the retail shop and can be purchased by cash, debit or credit card. A commission of 25% is taken on all sales. It is the responsibility of the applicant to observe Australian taxation regulations. 9. Successful applicants will receive professional development support and advice on how to present their work, and curate their display. 10. Works are installed by trained staff members. 11. Plinths for sculptural works may be available for use in the Window Gallery. 12. Successful applicants must develop their own media release. 13. All works of art must be ready for hanging, framed with the exception of stretched canvas works or fabric hangings, and have D rings placed on the back ready to hang. D rings should be uniformly placed approximately 8 cms from the top. 14. Successful applicants must provide a formatted list (as listed below) of all works of art to the Pine Rivers Art Gallery one month prior to the exhibition date: artists name title of the art work medium and surface date the work was created sale price 15. When delivered all works of art must have labels on the back clearly indicating: artist s name title of the art work medium and surface date the work was created sale price ( if applicable) 4
Curatorial Decision PINE RIVERS ART GALLERY THE WINDOW GALLERY 1. The Pine Rivers Art Gallery Venue Supervisor or their nominated representative retains the indisputable right and curatorial discretion to change, deny or remove any work of art, signage or wording placed in the Gallery that they deem inappropriate, unsuitable, poorly presented, occasioning concern to risk to the general public or offensive to public taste. Artists will be informed of this decision verbally or by email. Publicity 2. The Pine Rivers Art Gallery will publicise and promote exhibitions and events via generic mail outs. The artist/s will be responsible for the development of their Exhibition DL invitations for the opening and will acknowledge the support of the MBRC. Hanging the works 3. The Gallery exhibition hanging team is responsible for installation of the exhibition. Insurance 4. Council does not insure the works of art during transport, storage or during the exhibition. Insurance is the responsibility of the exhibiting artist/s and will be displayed at your own risk. General 5. Conditions are subject to change and variation under Council authority. 5
