CrossWIM CrossWIM is high-speed weigh-in-motion system, which covers all current requirements for traffic detection and dynamic weighing system. CrossWIM is used for traffic statistics, pre-selection and direct enforcement. The system was developed to cover the most demanding and broad requirements with respect to accuracy, reliability, software features, multi-line free-flow functionality and also long lifetime in daily traffic on the road network. Overview cameras These cameras take color photos or live-stream videos and can also be used for night vision. Variable Message Signs (VMS) Variable Message Signs are mostly used in the pre selection mode. Cross WIM Software solution This part of the system uses the Microsoft Windows Server system, extensive SQL database and web interface offers the main functions for monitoring, statistics, controlling and setting the system. The information, currently measured data and also the statistic outputs, are evaluated on-line and immediately disposed through e.g. mobile appliance with internet access. The main module of the web application is the so called Watchdesk. This is an easily controllable console, in which measured vehicles are displayed online, including the view and indication of the offence. After that is possible for every recorded vehicle displayed detailed information, as e.g. number of axles, wheeled weight, wheeled speed, validation. References Case study Direct enforcement Japan, Osaka CrossWIM on the bridge In 2011 CROSS Zlin as the first in Czech Republic and EU certified CrossWIM as an instrument for direct enforcement based on high speed control weighing. The device can be used for automatic weighing of vehicles in motion with an accuracy of ± 5% on the total weight of the vehicle and ± 11% on a single axle. Korea, motorways CrossWIM Extra Saudi Arabia, motorways CrossWIM and VMS CrossWIM is in accordance with the applicable legislation of the Czech Republic used for automatic ticketing of overloaded vehicles. Thanks to automatic fining it has led to substantial improvement in enforcement and prosecution and simultaneously to protection of the roads from damage due to overloaded vehicles, which dramatically increases lifespan and leads to significant savings on repairs.
