Getting started with Sun Life Illustrations - Web Introduction The Sun Life Illustrations tool: has an easy-to-use interface, gives you the ability to work from your desktop or the web, provides a Product Selector page that makes it easy to know which tool you should illustrate with, and offers the ability to produce professional-looking reports which you can save, access and present to the clients. Depending on your preferences, you can choose to work with the desktop version or the web version, or both. The two versions look very similar and for the most part work the same. But there are some differences, and you ll learn about these differences in this quick guide. About this Quick start guide To help you become familiar with Sun Life Illustrations, this guide focuses on the steps for setting up Sun Life Illustrations and covers the basic features of the tool. Once you have reviewed this Quick start guide, we recommend that you review the three Sun Life Illustrations case studies. The case studies will give you a better understanding of how to run an illustration. The Assign function is described in the next section of this document. Sun Life Product Selector When you launch Sun Life Illustrations, the first screen you will see is Product Selector. Assign The ability to Assign illustrations is a feature that is exclusive to the Web version. It becomes available once you have signed in on Sun Life Illustrations. If you create or modify illustrations on behalf of an advisor, we recommend that you work in the web version of the tool. Once you have created and saved the illustration on the web version, the Assign option allows you to change the owner of the saved illustration from yourself to the appropriate advisor. Important! For Sun Life Illustrations, we are making use of existing access that advisors have granted to their team. If your team already has access to your block of business on the Sun Life Advisor site, they will also be able to work on your behalf on the new illustration tool. For advisors and assistants who do not have an Access ID, they can obtain one by selecting the Register now link on the SLF Advisor site Home page at www.sunlife.ca/advisor When you are signed in to Sun Life Illustrations Web, and you save an illustration, that illustration is in your name. Advisor assistants use the Assign button to change the ownership of the illustration to the appropriate advisor. The advisor can then access the saved illustration by going into the Web version of the Illustration or by using the Sync function on the Desktop version. 4 December 22, 2014
