How does it work? The Time Trove architecture consists of an unobtrusive, light-weight agent on every computer in the organization that monitors usage. It quietly logs every activity that the user performs and the time spent on each. All this data is transmitted securely to the organization s Time Trove Server (a web application residing on the intranet web server) and detailed reports are generated for every user, department and the entire organization. Time Trove can be deployed on a user s computer in one of the following three modes: Administrative mode - The user reports define productivity by selecting activities to be included in Time Trove s statistics and by categorizing activities according to his/her preferences. The reports can also be viewed by administrative users. Reports (read only) mode - The user can view his/her reports but cannot define productivity or categorize activities, which can only be done by administrative users. Restrictive mode - The user can not see the client agent and is not aware of Time Trove s presence on his/her computer.
Activities Time Trove monitors actvities on the computer. Using an applications like software development IDEs, image editing softwares etc. or surfing a websites constitutes an activity. Timeline and bar graphs for activities and software Clicking on an activity in any graph will reveal the time spent on individual sub activities. For e.g - every file opened in an application or all the pages visited on a web browser are sub activities. Administration Timetrove allows the central administrator to define privileges for a single user or for a group of users. Administrators can choose 1 of 3 privilege settings for users. Certain activities can be excluded from being reported on the Time Trove dashboard. This ensures unwanted activities such as system processes do not show up in the reports.
