Mounting instruction Panic exit device Assa 1130:1 This mounting instruction is intended for installation of panic exit device Assa 1130:1 with following ordering numbers: 816115 and 816118. Warning! The safety features of this product are essential to its compliance with EN 1125. No modification of any kind, other than those described in these instructions, are permitted. Assa takes no responsibility for products not mounted as described in these instructions or if enclosed maintenance and operating instruction not are followed. 1. Use drill template 700514 and install the frontal central unit. 2. Keep the door in a closed position. 3. Use drill templates 700515 alt 700516 to attach upper striking plate and upper latch. Wedge shaped striking plate is used for doors with frame depth. (see picture 1) 1. 2. Flat striking plate is used at flushed door/frame. (see picture 2) 4. Use drill template 700517 to attach lower striking plate, marked A 34, and lower latch. Assa AB 702030 Edition 2 Page 2 of 5
5. Attach the short threaded vertical rod by screwing it 10-12 mm on to the link shaft and secure with the lock nut. 6. Attach the link shaft to the upper gudgeon on the frontal central unit. 7. Hold the threaded vertical rod against the threaded tap tube on the upper latch. Calculate and cut the rod 10-12 mm above the lower edge of the threaded tube. 10-12 MM Assa AB 702030 Edition 2 Page 3 of 5
8. Install the steering attachment for the vertical rod cover. Ensure that the steering is in the plumb-line of the vertical rod. NOTE! In order to secure fastening the steering attachment shall be adjusted to fit the hobbings on the rod cover. 9. Loosen the vertical rod from the frontal central unit and attach by screwing it to the upper latch. Adjust until the vertical rod can be fitted back to the central unit without any force. Secure with the lock clip. 10. Secure the lock nut on the vertical rod against the upper latch. 11. Attach the cover over the vertical rod. If necessary; adjust the cover by cutting it at the end against the upper latch. Adjust the rod cover with the cover for the upper latch in place. Assa AB 702030 Edition 2 Page 4 of 5
12. Repeat step 5 11 for attachment of the lower latch. NOTE! The threaded tap tube must be in its upper working position when the vertical rod is adjusted. 13. Calculate position and use the drill template 700514 to attach the unit for the hinge side. IMPORTANT! Ensure that the unit will be placed at the same height as the frontal central unit. Also make sure that the push bar will be in a horizontal position between the two units. 14. Attach covers on the two units and the push bar. 15. Attach enclosed after glowing stripe on the push bar. 16. Test the function: - Opening by panic bar minimum five times. Assa AB 702030 Edition 2 Page 5 of 5
Maintenance and operating instruction for Panic exit device Assa 1130:1 Panic exit device Regular intervals of at least: One month Check all fastenings, screws etc and that the panic bar and the vertical rods operate in good order. Open the door by pressing the panic bar. Ensure that the upper and lower latches move freely and get a god engagement in the strike plates when the door is closed. The panic bar shall easily return to its starting position after closing. Check that the after glowing stripe is undamaged and well visible. Replace with a new stripe if necessary. Upper and lower latches Regular intervals of at least: Six months Lubricate both sides of the latch. Use quality grease with high adhesive capacity, such as Assa Lock Grease or similar. Upper and lower strike plates Regular intervals of at least: Six months Lubricate the sliding surface between strike plates and latches. Use quality grease with high adhesive capacity, such as Assa Lock Grease or similar. Check the gap between latch and strike plate to insure a proper function. Adjust if necessary.
