Salibide DMI () Salibide DMI is a unique solvent for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications. It offers Purity of chemicals begins with purity of purpose. excellent solvent properties for a variety of organic active and functional ingredients such as Sunscreens, Cortisone, Vitamins etc. It is soluble in all proportions with water and is also soluble in a variety of other medium, such as cosmetic esters, alcohol or polyols. Salibide DMI can therefore be easily formulated in diverse forms, water-base formulations, emulsions, sticks etc. O We are Salicylates and Chemicals, a company established in 1978 with a single objective to manufacture organic chemicals and pharmaceuticals products that adhere to the most stringent quality standards. Though we only manufactured salicylic acid in our initial years, with the transition of time we took steps to alter the product mix. First it was Para Hydroxy Benzoic Acid [PHBA]. Later, we progressed to manufacturing paraben, H3CO Specifications Acid Value, mg KOH/g 1.5 max. Content, % 99 min. Water Content, % (K.F.) 1 max. as we had an in-house supply of PHBA, which is the basic raw material. Today, Salicylates and Chemicals is one of largest manufactures of preservatives and sunscreen chemicals for the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. Our wide ranging experience has enabled us to genuinely understand varying customer needs and develop a wide range of preservatives for varying applications in cosmetic industry: baby products, wipes, shampoos, creams, oral care lotions, lipsticks, and body wash etc. as well as the pharma industry: cough syrups, ointments, tablets etc. General Characteristics Appearance @ 25 C Clear colorless liquid Classification Specialty vehicle Freezing Point, deg. Commercial Applications Anti-dandruff products Oral Care Thinning hair treatment serum Skin lightening products Features and benefits of Salibide DMI Self-tanning products Features Benefits Anti-acne products Carrier for cosmetic and pharmaceutical actives Wide range of applications Enhanced delivery of active ingredients in topical applications, including: ~ Dihydroxy Acetone (DHA) for self-tanning products ~ Benzyl peroxide in anti-acne formulations ~ Various other actives whether water soluble or sparingly soluble e.g. hydrocortisone, salicyclic acid, lactic acid, acetylsalicylic acid, vitamins C, E & K, hyaluronic acid, blotlavinoids, kojic acid, hydroquinone, estrogen etc. Aids stability of actives Stable to hydrolysis Miscible with a wide range of ingredients including most organic solvents and nonionic surfactants Excellent safety profile, long history of safe use High boiling point, low volatility, low viscosity Enables efficient delivery and enhanced skin penetration for hydrophilic actives For both cosmetic and pharmaceutical use, enables one material to be used in a wide range of products Enables either cost reduction due toless active, loss irritancy from aggressive actives which will give the same effect with less active or a more effective product ~ Rapid colour development with enhanced tan longevity. Tan develops more evenly with less streaking or blotchiness improved product ~ Enhanced penetration of actives through the epidermis enabling targeted delivery ~ Can be used in a wide range of applications to reduce the cost of formulations or improve effects Gives improved shelf stability to formulations containing unstable actives, particularly those susceptible to hydrolysis or transesterification Miscible with all proportions of water without concerns of hydrolysis Broad formulation latitude with excellent shelf stability allowing incorporation into a wide range of product forms e.g. clear gels, foams creams, lotions, sprays & ointments Produces mild formulations with reduced irritancy potential Enables transport of water soluble actives into the skin, without recrystallization of the active. Allows production of formulations in conventional equipment without the need for flammable materials handling AHA/BHA products Nail polish remover Make-up remover Pharmaceutical formulations Toxicity Tests Solubility Soluble in Emollient, Human patch test Cottonseed Oil, Isopropanol, Mutagenicity assay Isopropyl Myristate, Propylene Glycol, TWEEN 20 or TWEEN 80 Surfactant and Water. Insoluble in Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Lanolin and Mineral oil or Silicon oil (DC 200 Fluid). * 10% solution - weight/weight Intravenous study (assessment ocular toxicity) In-vitro absorption through human epidermis Literature: haemolytic effect
