US Healthcare System Problem Resolution Process 27 January 2015 Reasons for Problem Resolution Process Problems are more numerous than the PCAST list Problems need to be collected to determine if they are systemic Solutions to problems exist in pockets Problems are not static, but are dynamic & emerging Healthcare providers do not have an existing tool to report and manage problems (besides FDA incidents reporting) Systems Engineering expertise that can help today is to focus on interactions in complex systems A dynamic set of emerging problems from a complex enterprise would benefit from a common problem reporting and management process Others???
