Benefits of LaraCare A200 Reduction of Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL), providing long lasting moisturization and hydration Improves skin appearance, decrease appearance of superficial fine lines and wrinkles Reduces emulsion particle size, facilitates uniform dispersions to enhance emulsion uniformity and promote stability Demonstrates SPF enhancement of sunscreens by smaller droplet size, improved pigment dispersion Increase efficacy of skin exfoliation agents, utilize as primary exfoliant Excellent substantivity to hair, help build a barrier of protection from heat and increase moisturization
Clinical Evaluation of Transepidermal Water Loss with LaraCare A200 Clinical Testing Protocol: 22 Subjects Product applied to lower leg with single application (2mg/cm 2 ) with and without the incorporation of Laracare 2% Measurements taken at 1, 2, 4 hours after single application Test Formulations & Controls: Control (without galactoarabinan) Test Formulation with 2% galactoarabinan Results: The test formula with galactoarabinan indicated a statistically significant reduction in TEWL at 1 hour through 4 hours.
Clinical Evaluation of Superficial Lines and Wrinkles with LaraCare A200 Clinical Testing Protocol: 15 subjects between age 35-60 Eight week full face study Panelists were evaluated at baseline and 8 weeks Assessed by silicon replicas with subsequent image analysis for measuring fine lines/wrinkles Test Formulations & Controls: Control (without galactoarabinan) Test formulation with 5% galactoarabinan Note: T x 2 represents the degree of superficial lines using silicon replicas with subsequent image analysis Results: Replica analysis showed an improvement of 19.12% in the appearance of superficial fine lines for the product containing 5% galactoarabinan compared with the baseline.
Clinical Evaluation of LaraCare A200 as Exfoliation Booster Clinical Testing Protocol: 30 subjects between age 34-57 Five day study on forearms Panelists were evaluated at baseline, 24hrs, day 2, day, 3, day 4, & day 5 Exfoliation assessed using D- Squame Surface Sampling Discs Test Formulations & Controls: 8% AHA Control formulation (without galactoarabinan) 8% AHA test formulation with 2% galactoarabinan 8% AHA test formulation with 5% galactoarabinan Results: a dose-dependent, statistically significant improvement in skin exfoliation when utilizing galactoarabinan in conjunction with AHA. At 2% galactoarabinan, a 16.29% improvement in exfoliation. At 5% galactoarabinan, a 20.38% improvement in exfoliation compared with the baseline.
LaraCare A200 on the Skin Surface FT-IR spectra of forearm skin treated with 2% galactoarabinan in water shows peaks at 1600 and 750 cm-1 that do not appear on untreated skin. The appearance of these peaks can only be attributed to galactoarabinan on the skin surface The peaks attributed to galactoarabinan are still evident two hours post application 0.200 0.19 0.18 0.17 0.16 0.15 0.14 0.13 0.12 0.11 0.10 A 0.09 0.08 0.07 0.06 0.05 0.04 0.03 0.02 0.01-0.003 4000.0 3600 3200 2800 2400 2000 1800 1600 1400 1200 1000 800 650.0 cm-1 Red = untreated skin Gray = skin + 2% GA Blue = skin + 2% GA two hours later Black = solid GA
