Virtual Servers VIRTUAL DATA CENTER OVERVIEW The SOFTeR Virtual Data Center is a Virtual Private Cloud Computing Service that enables customers to leverage guaranteed resource reservation pools (processor, memory and disk resources) at Softer s world-class data centers. Using the Virtual Private Cloud customers gain the ability to create virtual machines and allocate and provision computing assets on demand from the SOFTeR Enterprise Cloud Management (ECM) portal. The SOFTeR Virtual Data Center provides IT professionals with the built-in control and resiliency of an enterprise-class computing environment coupled with the scalability and flexibility of the virtual private cloud. In addition, the Virtual Data Center delivers the privacy and security that companies require for production computing environments. And since Virtual Data Centers are provided from SOFTeR s award-winning private cloud, customers have multiple options to establish private connectivity as if the servers were still sitting their own on-premise data center. VIRTUAL DATA CENTER BENEFITS Simplicity: Replace multiple on-site servers, support, upgrades and backup with a simple cloud sourced service. Economics: Pay for just the guaranteed computing resources that are needed, for a predictable monthly fee. Productivity: Users can gain access to virtual servers from any location, while administrators can support and deploy from a centralized location. Stability: Services from SOFTeR Cloud are delivered from geographically diverse technology centers and accessible from any location, ensuring that Cloud services are available regardless of conditions at your location. Scalability: Meet business requirements by adding additional resources to virtual machines, or adding additional virtual machines inside resource pools. Performance: Apply computing power to servers virtually to improve application performance and enjoy access to limitless bandwidth options. Control: Enjoy unmatched control and point-and-click configuration over all services through our awardwinning NetApp and VMware Cloud Management Portal. Security: Physical and Virtual security are no longer your issue. True customer isolation enables you leverage the power of the cloud without the risk Page 1

VSERVER OVERVIEW The SOFTeR vserver solution is a Virtual Private Cloud Computing Service that enables our customers to leverage the resources at SOFTeR s world-class data centers to host their servers and applications. Services are provided on a virtualized server basis with scalable access to computing power (processor, memory and disk resources). Like most commercially available cloud services, vcloud provides scalability and built-in failover of virtualized servers. Unlike these offerings, vcloud delivers the privacy and security that is generally only available on dedicated or on-premise server environments. And since vservers are provided out of SOFTeR s private cloud, customers on the Network can access their vservers over private connectivity as if the servers were still sitting their own data center. VSERVER BENEFITS Simplicity: Replace multiple on-site servers, support, upgrades and backup with a simple cloudsourced service. Economics: Reduce the total cost of desktop ownership of servers and applications through remote troubleshooting, ease of deployment, and elimination of maintenance and capital purchases. Productivity: Users can gain access to servers from any location, while administrators can support and deploy from a centralized location. Stability: Services from SOFTeR are delivered from diverse technology centers over multiple carriers ensuring that services are available regardless of conditions at your location. Scalability: Meet new requirements by adding additional resources to virtual servers upgrading expensive equipment. Performance: Apply computing power to servers virtually to improve application performance and enjoy access to limitless bandwidth. Control: Enjoy unmatched control and point-and-click configuration over all services through our award-winning NetApp and VMware Cloud Management Portal. Security: Physical and Virtual security are no longer your issue. True customer isolation enables you leverage the power of the cloud without the risk. Page 2

-IT SOLUTIONS -DISASTER AVOIDANCE -HOSTED EXCHANGE -UNIFIED COMMUNICATIONS -LAN MANAGEMENT Solutions SOFTeR CLOUD is proud to offer industry leading solutions to some of the most complex technology challenges faced by today s businesses. DISASTER AVOIDANCE The real disaster may come in focusing on a recovery instead of on avoiding problems before they occur. SOFTeR Cloud s disaster avoidance solutions allow your business to continue running in the event of a disaster, natural or otherwise. Chance favors the prepared mind and business. HOSTED EXCHANGE SOFTeR Cloud s Exchange service, a hosted Microsoft Exchange solution, provides your business all of the flexibility, mobility, and advanced features of a premise-installed system, without all of the licensing, hardware, and personnel costs. UNIFIED COMMUNICATIONS Unified Communications refers to the concept of consolidating phone, email, fax, chat, video, and collaboration into a single, unified channel, either on a device or on a computer. LAN MANAGEMENT SOFTeR Cloud s LAN Management services are designed to mitigate the difficulties companies encounter managing all of their various servers, desktops and network devices. Page 4

Unified Communications What is Unified Communications? Simply stated, Unified Communications (UC) refers to the concept of consolidating phone, email, fax, chat, video, and collaboration into a single unified channel, either on a device or on a computer. The SOFTeR Cloud s IP Office offers multiple UC options from basic PC control to full fledged presence, IM, video, and collaboration. The purpose of UC is to reduce communications latency, or in traditional terms, telephone tag. It aims to decrease the amount of time it takes to respond to a communication by making all available return call methods available at a single click, without having to look up phone numbers or type out email addresses. Unified Communications strives to increase the likelihood that the other party will be available to receive a communication by sharing information about their availability and preferred method of communication called presence. The challenge for businesses looking to deploy UC is to integrate these multiple communication methods, equipment, and software into a seamless user experience while keeping capital expenditures and administration under control. The SOFTeR Cloud s IP Office solves this challenge by offering multiple, fully-integrated UC options. SOFTeR Cloud offers at least two options for bringing true Unified Communications to your organization, allowing you to choose the best fit: Standard Features This represents the standard UC capabilities of The SOFTeR Cloud Phone System. By utilizing the SOFTeR Cloud IP Office tools, in addition to the Avaya IP Office One-X Portal or Contact Center, you get advanced UC features including PC Call Control, Voicemail-to-Email, Click-to-Dial, and more. Soft Phone Client Software Soft Phone is a desktop client application that provides additional features including Instant Messaging and presence. Page 5

LAN Management SOFTeR Cloud s LAN Management services are designed to mitigate the difficulties companies encounter managing all of their various servers, desktops and network devices. SOFTeR Cloud s LAN Management services allow IT to concentrate on the applications that deliver value to the business rather than on the performance of the equipment on which they reside. Why manage your LAN from the SOFTeR Cloud? Simplicity: Equipment, monitoring and life cycle management in a simple service Economics: Predictable support costs and avoidance of capital expenditures Productivity: Head start on troubleshooting leading to faster resolutions Stability: Early warning and prevention of impending problems Performance: Increased system uptime Control: Alerting, Dashboards and Reporting provide vision without loss of control LAN Management Services: Desktop Management Desktop Management (Remote or Onsite) Desktop Optimization Virtual Desktop (Evolved Office Desktop) Server Management Server Watch (Monitoring) Server Manage Virtual Private Server (vserver) LAN Switch Management LAN Watch (Monitoring) LAN Manage Managed POE Switches Professional Services LAN / WAN Assessments Configuration Validation Remote or onsite engineering services Page 6
