However tread carefully, very strong colour is best confined to areas of the home where we spend shorter amounts of time, such as entrance halls, dining rooms etc. Aim to balance the excitement of colour with some visual rest breaks. Use pattern to maintain this balance and keep colours proportionate. As a rule using 2/3 one colour and 1/3 another will ensure your colour scheme feels 'right'. Another way to look at use of colour in your home, is to imagine your home as a landscape. To help a room feel grounded, a general guide would be to use the darkest colour underfoot, mediums tones and pattern variation at eye level with the lightest colour, like the sky, on the ceiling above us. Venetian Silks Colour is a great way to express your personality. Pinks are particularly versatile this season with an array of hues - think fun and cheerful.
