s Fire Safety TeleRex, the wireless Cerberus AlgoRex technology.
Unique Cerberus AlgoRex detection reliability is backed up by TeleRex state-of-the-art radio technology. For the frequently copied but never equalled Cerberus AlgoRex technology from Siemens Building Technologies, smoke is not just smoke. AlgoRex can, for example, tell the difference between a smouldering cigar or a burning paper basket and a genuine fire and only gives an alarm in a real emergency. So when the customer chooses AlgoRex, he is choosing fire detection technology which has proven its effectiveness millions of times. 2
Both systems proven fire detection technology and innovative radio technology unite to form a universal hybrid system which offers the operator advantages in every situation. By means of this combination the AlgoRex system provides basic detection with wired fire detectors. Extended with radio gateways, the system communicates by radio with TeleRex detectors. The radio gateways, together with the wired detectors, can be integrated into the detection line. This enables detectors to be optimally located to meet the widest range of criteria, e.g. aesthetic aspect, radio transmission or cost. Reliable communication with TeleRex radio detectors. Radio without interference TeleRex is the first fire detection system in the SRD band (short range device) of 868 870 MHz which has been released for security applications. This is a frequency band with clear rules for all users. It is therefore completely free from long-range amateur radio interference and industrial, scientific and medical applications with high transmitting power. Consequently TeleRex operates in a frequency band with the highest availability factor. The power consumption in the SRD band is so low that the batteries in the detectors have an extra-long service life which greatly reduces maintenance costs. Reliable radio communication Upon being commissioned, the system automatically selects a basic radio channel. If this channel is ever occupied by an extraneous system it is immediately registered by TeleRex. In a fraction of a second, it automatically switches to an alternative channel, e.g. a specially reserved alarm channel in the SRD band. This safeguards signal transmission via one of the two integrated antennae (antenna diversity) at all times. If the connection between detector and gateway is interrupted, it is automatically re-established by other detectors. The virtual wire Because TeleRex is a bi-directional multichannel radio system in the SRD band, it has the same functionality as wired systems and neither the operator nor the fire department are subject to any restrictions. The acknowledged and valued AlgoRex features are therefore available both during operation and maintenance (one-man servicing). TeleRex signals danger immediately and reliably. Each fault is registered within 100 seconds in compliance with EN54 at a range of approx. 40 m inside buildings and 200 m outside. Cerberus AlgoRex and TeleRex can be found in the very best of houses: Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, Netherlands. TeleRex detectors are as safe as wired detectors, but no operational interruptions will occur in case of construction work or extensions. The time needed for conversion, the cost and loss of rent are comparatively low when changes are made to the use of a building or room layout and there are no additional installation costs. That is why it is also possible to provide economic and efficient fire detection systems in buildings which have a regular change of utilization such as shopping centers, commercial premises etc. When retrofitting or up-grading systems in hotels, convention centers, museums or production plants, any interruption to business is reduced to the absolute minimum: We just screw on the detector base, insert the detector and it is operational. they are much faster in installation and thus more economical. In situations in which installation or extensions using wiring is either very difficult, impossible or can only be done at high cost, wireless TeleRex detectors are the ideal solution. they offer almost unlimited flexibility. Fire protection concepts can be realized in listed buildings, museums, churches, libraries, art galleries etc. without unsightly wiring. Existing fire detection systems can be extended at minimum cost. A combination of wired AlgoRex and wireless TeleRex detectors offers a high degree of flexibility. Thus even projects of a temporary nature (building sites, buildings being restored, exhibitions etc.) can be suitably protected, quickly and cheaply. 5
