CSP Organizatinal Internship Prgram Prgram Cmmunity Supprt Prgrams (CSP) Organizatinal Internship Prgram ffers emplyees an pprtunity t wrk in ne r mre CSP prgrams, gaining knwledge, skills and greater understanding f the N9 rganizatin. Used as an additinal tl fr prfessinal develpment, CSP Organizatinal Internships can help grm future N9 leaders. The learning experience may include jb exchanges, crss training, mentring, jb shadwing and/r special prject assignments. Purpse T prvide qualified Cmmunity Supprt Prgrams (CSP) emplyees a valuable prfessinal and career develpment pprtunity t braden their knwledge, skills and rganizatinal experience. Outcme A successful Internship experience that cntributes t an individual s prfessinal develpment may als benefit the rganizatin by increasing prductivity, enhancing perfrmance results, imprving emplyee mrale and establishing a path fr future N9 leaders. Duratin Fur t Eight weeks. Definitins Organizatinal Internship refers t a mnitred wrk experience in which an existing CSP emplyee has intentinal learning gals which will increase their skills and knwledge f the N9 rganizatin. Jb Exchange refers t a tw-way pprtunity where bth substantive psitins invlved in the exchange will be staffed fr the entire duratin f the exchange assignment. The mst apprpriate cnditins fr an exchange are thse which prvide emplyees with a prfessinal r career develpment pprtunity and enable suitably qualified and skilled emplyees t exchange psitins. 3
Crss-training refers t the practice f training emplyees t perfrm tasks and duties utside f their regular rles. Mentring refers t a prfessinal develpment relatinship in which a mre experienced r mre knwledgeable persn helps a less experienced r less knwledgeable persn. Prject Assignment refers t a task r planned prgram f wrk that requires a large amunt f time, effrt, and planning t cmplete. Jb shadwing refers t a wrk experience ptin where emplyees learn abut a jb by walking thrugh the wrk day as a shadw f a cmpetent wrker. Emplyee Intern refers t existing CSP emplyee seeking t braden their knwledge, skills and rganizatinal experience by participating in an N9 jb exchange r internship pprtunity. Internship Supervisr refers t the Supervisr wh versees the internship psitin, and directly supervises the emplyee intern. Internship Prgram Crdinatr (IPC) refers t the CSP Reginal Training Crdinatr, wh prvides administratin supprt thrughut the entire exchange/internship prcess. Eligibility Open t full-time CSP persnnel (APF & NAF) wh have been emplyed fr n less than 2 years. The pprtunity fr a jb exchange, internship r ther frms f career develpment shuld be discussed by the emplyee with their immediate supervisr and be included in the emplyee s Individual Develpment Plan (IDP). Participatin in this prgram is vluntary. Applicants must be able t demnstrate that they meet the cre skill set f the internship prject and will perfrm the duties accrding t the assignment descriptin. Applicants wh d nt meet the minimum requirements fr the prject will nt be interviewed. Supervisrs and Prgram Managers (PM) must authrize the Applicants participatin in the jb exchange/internship. Emplyee Interns and Internship Supervisrs must be able t agree t the terms f the Internship, which includes assignment r prject, gals and bjectives, supervisry rles, mnitring and feedback prcedure, available resurces, duratin f internship and evaluatin prcess. 4
NOTE: Part-time CSP persnnel, wh have been emplyed fr n less than 2 years, may be nminated fr a jb exchange by their Supervisr. Hwever, an exchange wuld nly be pssible when ther part-time emplyees with the same wrk hurs are willing t exchange psitins. Prcess Organizatinal Internship annuncements will be psted quarterly, n mwrtday.cm, n all CSP emplyee bulletin bards, as well as distributed via email t all CSP managers. Annuncements will include pening and clsing date, prject descriptin, skills and qualificatins, prject specific infrmatin (if applicable), lcatin f assignment, tentative start date, duratin f assignment. Eligible emplyees must cmplete an Internship applicatin, btain their immediate Supervisr s apprval, alng with the Prgram Manager s (PM) Authrizatin. Emplyees submit the cmpleted Internship applicatin t the Internship Prgram Crdinatr (IPC), n r befre clse f business n the specified annuncement deadline. Internship Prgram Crdinatr (IPC) will verify references, ntify interview panelists and schedule interviews. Upn selectin, an rientatin will be scheduled with the Emplyee Interns, Internship Supervisrs and the Internship Prgram Crdinatr (IPC). Terms f internship r memrandum f understand will be discussed. The start date f the internship will be subject t the business requirements f each area and will be negtiated between Emplyee Interns and the Supervisrs. Evaluatins will be cnducted by the Internship Prgram Crdinatr (IPC) at the end f the jb exchange/internship. Emplyee Intern, Internship Supervisrs and Prgram Manager (PM) will be included in the evaluatin prcess. 5
