Preparing your items to sell at LMNOP Kids Consignment Sale What do we accept? How do you prepare it? Tag it? Etc. All tags must be printed on 45# or heavier white or ivory cardstock directly from our barcoding site. If your ink is low or over-inking the page, these tags won t scan. Please make sure that your ink is printing properly.

Key Points Item Minimum is $2 per hanger (so outfits count) We are looking for things that are on trend, on style, and on brand. Keep in mind that anyone can shop the Goodwill any time they want, this needs to be a special event, not a garage sale. Our shoppers are savvy parents who shop clearance and bargain bins. They are not going to pay, for example, $5 for a target tshirt they can get on clearance for $1. Unless it s super cute, we won t accept Walmart, Shopko or Gerber clothing. Please do not bring 1990 s left overs, dime a dozen onesies or out of trend clothing. If you have clothes that don t meet these guidelines, please put them in a box and bring them to the sale as a donation to the Family Support Center and there will be donation slips there for you to estimate your charity donation. Clothing: We accept new & gently used clothing that is in style and for the current season. Spring sale: No winter, Halloween, or Holiday gear. Fall sale: No summer gear, sandals, summer dresses, etc. February, All Seasons sale, will accept ALL SEASONS of clothing, with the exception of Fall Holiday themed clothes, like Halloween and Christmas, but costumes are accepted all year long. No rips, tears, fading, bleach spots, stains, fraying, spots, or major wear. We have the right to remove your items from the sale floor at any time according to these outlined requirements. o Keep in mind, clothing sells best from size 2T-8, but all sizes from NB-size 12 youth are accepted. This doesn t mean infant clothing won t sell, but people get a lot of gifts for their showers and such and just don t need these sizes as much. Just be selective on your pricing and what you bring from NB-18M. We only accept 25 hangers of each: 0-3, 6 m, 12 m 18 m. o All clothing must be on a hanger. o Clothing must be clean and pressed, if necessary. A wrinkled shirt WILL NOT sell. o Hangers should make a question mark when you are looking at them and tags should be on the right hand side of the clothing or attached to the inside tag. o DO NOT TAG WITH A GUN THROUGH THE CLOTHING ITSELF. USE THE TAG OR THE INSIDE ARM SEAM. WE WILL REMOVE THE TAG AND RETAG IT AND IF IT MAKES A HOLE, WE WILL PUT IT IN THE DONATE PILE.

o If you have pants, they cannot not be folded over the hanger. The best and easiest way to do jeans and slacks is to use the store hangers, like from Old Navy and put the shirt slats through the belt loops. You can also use safety pins or large plastic clothes pins (I found at the dollar store) to put the pants on the hanger if you don t have a pants hanger. Also, wire hangers with the cape on them are very easy to pin pants to. Save the clip hangers for skirts and sweats that don t have belt loops. o If you have more than one shirt, hang each shirt and then connect the hangers with a large rubber band or ziptie. o If you have an outfit, hang the shirt and then turn the hanger over to attach the pants with safety pins. If there is a jacket or over shirt, put that on before turning over. SHOES should be zip-tied, laced together, or in a baggie so they stay together. Please pick your best shoes in each size. Clean, free of dirt on bottom, shiny shoes sell well. Old dirty shoes will be left at the end. Please don t waste our valuable space or your valuable time tagging dirty shoes. Donate to the Family Support Center. See the difference below, especially in the white area. A little elbowgrease goes a long way.

HATS AND GLOVES sorted into bins by gender and type o No used underwear, stockings, nylon type tights, or socks unless completing an outfit or being donated to the Family Support Center. Put them in a donate box or bag you that you don t need back. o No bibs unless completing an outfit. o Exceptions to underwear, stockings, nylon type tights, socks and bibs: brand new in the package will be accepted. Costumes, dance wear, sport equipment and dress up clothing. See above for clothing. Accessories like hats, gloves, scarves, ties, etc. will be hanging on a clothes line. Please make sure there is a way for us to hang them. Bags, Purses and Backpacks will be hung using a hanger on racks for shopping ease. Baby gear must be clean, in good condition and you must check the CPSC for recalls. There is a great site, www.wemakeitsafter.com We will not sell anything that has been recalled! It will be immediately removed from the sale and returned to you or thrown away. o Strollers-no pinching, all pieces included o Swings o High Chairs o Bassinets o Pack N Plays, playyards, portable cribs, co-sleepers must be newer and follow these guidelines: 1. Mesh sided play yards should have warnings not to be left in down position. They should have a hinge in the middle that automatically locks when the rails are lifted. 2. No rivets protruding more than 1/16 of an inch on outside of rails 3. Openings less than ¼ inch on mesh sided play yards and no tears or holes 4. Staples rivets or screws are attached and not loose. 5. No missing or broken parts. o Walkers should be at least 36 inches wide at base and have gripping strips to prevent falling down stairs. o Cribs-Cribs manufactured before June 2011 WILL NOT BE SOLD AT THE SALE, No drop down sides. o Bath seats do not sell very well at the sale. We will accept but must meet these conditions: 1. Cannot attach to the bathtub floor with suction cups 2. Cannot be made before 2007 3. Cannot be broken or damaged o Toy chests must have the correct spring loaded hinges to prevent fingers been caught in there. They must also have no latch or lock that a kid could be locked in. It has to have ventilation holes at the top or sides. o Car Seats must be manufactured within the last 4 years 1. They must not be recalled, check CPSC s website. 2. They must not have been in an accident, even a fender bender 3. You must be the original owner 4. Must include the manual (print online)

5. Must be clean and free of stains and smells 6. You must sign an additional waiver and attach that to the car seat at the sale. If there is not a waiver attached, your seat will be removed from the sales floor. o Baby Carriers, Slings & Backpacks that aren t recalled. o Exersaucers & Bouncers that are clean and in good condition. No missing parts or hardware. Linens, crib bedding sets, blankets and sheets packaged and tagged with sizes and styles. You may hang these on hangers for a better chance of selling! Hang the quilt and put the rest in a bag, number the duplicate tags, 1/2 & 2/2 for example Maternity clothing is accepted, but please be aware of seasons and limit to the most stylish pieces. Nursery items and décor like: o Monitors o Sippy cups and bottles are best in groups, packaged and clean. o Guardrails o Diaper pails don t sell very well so only the best, cleanest and most stylish and newer ones. o Frames and pictures o Mobiles and crib toys o Rugs, lamps and pillows Outdoor play equipment Clean your equipment well and maybe provide just a picture of the equipment with a tag and then break it down. Slides, sports equipment, bikes, sandboxes, wagons, trikes, scooters, etc. Bikes, see above Stuffed animals are not accepted unless new with tags, licensed characters, or beanie babies. Toys that are in great condition and clean with batteries and working parts will sell almost every time. 75-90% of toys are sold. Please make sure the tag is securely attached. Kids will play with the toys even though we make all efforts for them not to. Make sure all pieces are attached. Painters tape works great. We accept: o Games with all pieces o Books with no torn or missing pages o Puzzles with all the pieces o Computer and video games o Video game systems like playstation, Nintendo, etc. o Legos in sets, lego tables o Rattles and baby toys o Pull toys o Ride on toys o Electronic toys with batteries in working condition. We do not accept: Recalled items Carseats over 4 years old, 5 for infant carriers, they expire after 6 years and we want our shoppers to have time to use them. Or any in an accident. Bibs, underwear, socks or nylon style tights unless with an outfit or brand new in packaging. Used stuffed animals or plush dolls that aren t licensed characters or Beanie Babies DROP SIDE CRIBS Items without batteries that need them. Questions....ask us... lmnopkids@comcast.net
