PW140 Series Multi Format SDI Transport over 10G fibre IBC sees the introduction of a new signal transport platform for Outside Broadcast and Infrastructure applications. With the drive to 4K and 3G systems the PW140 Series from Bluebell offers a universal SDI signal transport system over fibre in a compact 1RU frame. The PW140 Series is designed to maximise the number of 3G/HD-SDI signals that can be transported using existing fibre infrastructures. It is also intended to easily integrate multiple formats and signals into the fibre network within the facility or venue. As with all Bluebell products the highest grade optical components are used to ensure optimum optical performance. At the heart is a processor which provides simultaneous multiplexing and de-multiplexing of the signals presented to it via the input/output cards. The initial base configuration using the PW-300 I/O card provides 6 x bidirectional HD-SDI signals over 2 fibres or 10G Ethernet. Frames will be available with either a single processor card or in a dual processor format with four input/output cards. Additional signals can be presented to the PW-300 via the standard Bluebell TDM-300 and TDM-700 cards. In this way audio, genlock, data, tally and Ethernet signals can be inserted into the muxed stream ensuring the PW Series offers an optical backbone for all demanding signal transport applications. When used with CWDM optical multiplexing 96 x HD-SDI signals can be transported over a single fibre. Additional I/O cards are already in planning to add additional features and signal formats. Provision is also made for network monitoring and SNMP support. Frames are supplied with dual redundant power supplies as standard.
Broadcast Fibre Optic Solutions in Outside Broadcast The Caddie-LB 3G is a new portable fibre interface designed for use in Outside Broadcast and special events. A mixture of video and audio signals are combined to provide a flexible and cost effective solution for many production applications. Each unit is supplied in a rugged unit suitable for the rigours of repeated rigging and de-rigging. Audio I/O is supported with a mixture of mic and line level signals with +48 V DC phantom power, Intercom and LED monitoring. Audio levels are SMPTE compliant as standard. An Ethernet 10/100BASE-T link provides the ability for control or simple IP connectivity over the same physical link. The Base end can also be replaced with a combination of cards from the BC Series range should a 19 rack based solution be required for a truck or CAR. All Bluebell products are fully SMPTE compliant and pass all pathological signals for optimal signal performance and minimal jitter and eye pattern degradation. Bringing IP to the Camera The Net-Caddie marketed by Bluebell opens up the implentation of a new workflow by allowing HD-SDI to be injected directly into a standard IP network environment. Featuring Stagebox by BBC Research & Development and 100 MBps AVC-I compression the HD-SDI signal is converted and carried over the network in full broadcast quality video. This allows a remote camera to interface to an IP network and be used directly in the production environment. Stagebox by BBC Research & Developmentí provides video, audio and ancillary information over a time synchronous network. Audio, control, tally and talkback are carried along with bi-directional HD-SDI signals. In addition the system is completely synchronised providing IP equivalent to a genlocked SD-SDI system. Timing and control is based on IEEE 1588 and the proposed SMPTE timing standard. The system also allows remote connection of video sources, editing workstations and monitoring equipment. Importantly the IP stream feeds directly into a workstation and can be viewed with any open standard software decoder. Net-Caddie units are now in production with units already deployed in real production events. Based around a modular 19î rack mount system, multiple signal formats can be carried over multimode, singlemode, TDM, WDM, CWDM and DWDM transport solutions. Enhancements include several new cards including the BC860 for 10/100/1000 Ethernet applications. The TDM-720 and TDM-730 transport HD-SDI with serial RS232/422 or 10/100 data and like all Bluebell cards are used as building blocks to make simple or complex optical networks. The new BC501 will carry composite video and stereo analogue audio while the BC625 offers four bidirectional analogue audios. The BC561 is a useful card for remote camera control offering HD-SDI with reverse genlock and serial data control. The BC363 is based on two SFP cages and can offer multiple format signal inputs and outputs depending upon application. When used alone or with the Shax/ShaxX the card offers complete wavelength management. All cards within the BC Series range are SFP based. This allows flexibility in system design both in the initial planning stages and future changes or expansion. All Bluebell products use the highest grade optical components to ensure optimum performance and maintain full broadcast specifications. The BC100 and BC160 frames have been updated to integrate with the new BM102 network monitoring and SNMP card.
