2 DENSITÉ SERIES XVP Gbps/HD/SD Universal & essor Unprecedented single card functionality A single XVP-3901 card provides: Now there s no need for multiple cards for video and audio processing. Our new XVP-3901 delivers all the essential functions on a single module. It offers up/down/cross conversion, with simultaneous 3Gbps/HD and SD outputs. There s also integral fiber I/O, full AFD support, and background keying. Multi-channel audio performance is equally impressive, with advanced processing of 16 embedded and 8 discrete (AES) channels. This unprecedented functionality on one card reduces purchase and maintenance costs, and also simplifies video/ audio integration, automation and cabling. This is due to multiple processing technologies, including better detail enhancement; more effective 3:2, 5:5, and 2:2 detection; pixel-based de-interlacing; video over film support; and advanced motion adaptive de-interlacing and anti-ringing. AFD aspect ratio control To ensure that upconverted or downconverted television is presented in the correct aspect ratio when aired, the XVP-3901 fully supports AFD. This provides automatic aspect ratio control using embedded control commands, and this prevents on-air aspect ratio errors such as the postage stamp effect. To further improve the presentation of upconverted or downconverted television, the XVP offers a background keying capability, which allows side, or top and bottom, to be filled with video or graphics. The Densite HMP-1801 media player module is ideal for playing out animated backgrounds for the side (see page 4). The processor can accept 3Gbps/HD/SD video, and continuously provide independent 3Gbps/HD and SD outputs. The processor performs all the up/down/cross conversion, color space and aspect ratio conversion to maintain the chosen output formatting, irrespective of whether the input is 3G, HD 1080i, HD 720p or SD.

3 L R C Lfe Ls Rs 16 channel audio processing The XVP-3901 can perform processing of 16 channels of embedded audio, with automatic delay of all 16 channels (four groups) to keep lipsync. Full audio processing, including shuffling, down-mixing, dynamic processing (limiter, compressor, and expander), as well as four AES input and four AES output channels, are available as options. Fiber plug-in cartridge A fully integrated fiber input/output cartridge is an option to simplify fiber installation and configuration. When the fiber cartridge is fitted, the card can select between fiber and BNC inputs. The output can be 3G/HD or SD over fiber, with both 3G/HD and SD available via BNC. This allows an easy upgrade path in the field to the full XVP-3901 specification, thereby simplifying maintenance and offering flexibility for the future. A key feature of the XVP-3901 family processors is the built-in streaming video with audio level meter support, which allows the video to be evaluated remotely over IP. 3

4 KEY APPLICATIONS Incoming feed processing using XVP-3901 By using the new XVP Gbps/HD/SD video and audio signal processor module, the amount of equipment required for incoming feed processing is vastly reduced. Instead of using multiple mono-functional cards and devices, incoming feed processing can be performed by a single highly integrated module. Using a single card for incoming feed processing simplifies system integration and control, while also reducing purchase and operational costs. Cabling is also simplified, and perfect video and audio synchronization is assured.
