Animal Care Do you enjoy being around animals? Do you like to take care of cats and dogs (and other critters!) This is the club for you if you want to help the animals of Istanbul. We will build and maintain a cat shelter on campus, learn about responsible pet ownership, and other ways to help animals everywhere! Ms. Nicole, Ms. Edwards For Grades 3 to 5
The Art of Storytelling Do you enjoy listening to stories? Do you enjoy sharing stories? Drawing? We will be sharing cultural stories from around the world. Followup drawing activities will expand on mood, themes and motifs within these oral tales. Ms. Liz For Grades 1 to 3
Ballet For all of those budding ballerinas and dancers out there, come along to the ballet club! Learn all the basic classical ballet moves, dance to classical music. Film Club If you love watching films and reviewing them, film club is the club for you! You will get a chance to watch a selection of movies. Then you can write reviews or create trailers using ipads. Finally you will have an opportunity to take action based on what you learned from the films. Ms. Sarah For Grades 3 and 4
Flow Yoga This club is a fun way for students to explore how yoga can help better understand and appreciate their changing bodies, relationships, and life on and off the mat. Yoga can help students move through these often-challenging years and emerge with healthy ways to address stress and find balance. Football Club If you think you could be the next Messi or Ronaldo then this is the club for you! If you have never played before but always wanted to give it a try then this is the club for you! If you like being outside and enjoy a little exercise then this is the club for you! Come along; learn all about teamwork, build friendships, get fit, learn the skills... Friendship Group If you would like to have new friends or improve your friendships, come and join us :) You will do some role plays and play games to improve social skills; conflict resolution, anger management, communication etc. You will have fun and learn how to express the skills you have worked on, in the friendship club. Guitar Do you wish to learn how to play a musical instrument? Does the guitar or piano appeal to you? The guitar and piano are wonderful instruments that can produce a wide range of sounds. Learning how to play a musical instrument also helps you develop your fine motor skills, and also your focus and concentration skills. You will need to bring a guitar with you to class. MINECRAFT Minecraft is a computer game that allows you to place blocks to build anything you can imagine. It allows you to develop creativity, design and problem solving skills. If you enjoy computer games and enjoy design and making, then you may enjoy this club. Mr. Murat For Grades 2 to 5
Movie Making Learn the different ways to film a scene by watching some movies and talking about techniques. Then take this knowledge and use it to write and plan your own short movie. You will film your movie using a simple video recorder or ipad and editing software. You will have the opportunity to plan, think-through and communicate your learning into a creative video. Music and Movement Come join us and energize with the latest dance moves and fun songs. During this semester we will be doing Karaoke, dance sequences, and other exciting movement activities. Scratch Jr. - Coding for Kids Learn to code - code to learn! Scratch Jr. is a new app for the ipad that gives children as young as five the opportunity to program their own interactive stories and games. In the process, they learn to solve problems, design projects, and express themselves creatively on the ipad. Mr Edwards For Grades 1 and 2
Sculpture If you enjoy making things with your hands, then sculpture could be just the branch of art that you might enjoy. If you enjoy making things with play-doh or plasticine, then you just might enjoy making things out of clay. Come along to the sculpture club to make amazing 3D art.
