Desktop New features and enhancements in release 2.30 Windows 7 and Office 2010 compatibility RapidRedact Desktop is now fully compatible with Windows 7 based operating systems and Office 2010. Historical Reporting Historical Reporting extends RapidRedact's reporting capabilities. In previous versions of RapidRedact Desktop Reports were only able to be generated when a document was outputted. With the introduction of 'Historical Reporting', organizations can now create reports whenever they are needed for documents redacted in the past. A new 'Save Reporting Data option has been added that allows RapidRedact to store information about redacted documents necessary for generating reports. Users wanting to access historical reports simply use the 'Historical Reporting' interface listing previously redacted documents. Deskew and Despeckle The Deskew and Despeckle tools are used for correcting inconsistencies in scanned documents. With the introduction of these tools, users can quickly and easily re-position skewed pages and remove unwanted marks that often appear on scanned documents. Advanced output RXF The Advanced output option now includes an option for creating Working Files (RXF)..RXF is RapidRedact s proprietary secure file format. Redaction templates from file No longer is scanning the only method for specifying a sample document for use with redaction templates. Users can select TIF and PDF files from their computer s file system to be used for redaction templates. Page 1
Changed exemption codes so that they are no longer automatically applied to stamps Previously stamps would inherit the last used exemption codes when the Add last exemption codes option was enabled. As stamps are not true redactions and are not used for removing information, exemption codes will no longer be applied to them automatically. Included logging enhancements RapidRedact s logging capabilities have been improved so that if in the unlikely event RapidRedact experiences an issue, important information about the event will be recorded. If you would like to read about these enhancements in more detail or want instructions on using any of the new features, please consult the release notes document.
