MedixSafe Quick Start Guide Installing Software 1. Download software setup files from dropbox link provided via e-mail. 2. Double click setup.exe file and run. 3. Once install is finished, restart computer and open software. Programming Settings 1. Naming your department. A. Click on basic settings and navigate to department management. B. Triple click the word company and change to your department s name. (clicking away will save changes) 2. Creating a 24/7access time zone. A. Click the Time zone icon. B. Click Add. C. Select time zone ID 1. D. Type 24/7 Access in description. E. For each day at the top change it to 00:00. F. For each day at the bottom change it to 23:59. G. Then click ok to save. Page 1 of 5
3. Creating a group and setting dual authentication. A. Click the icon Group. B. In the group 1 column, type 1 under time zone 1. C. In the same column under verify mode, select the form of authentication you desire. (NOTE) The & symbol between means both. and the / symbol means either/or. D. Once information is correct, click Save. 4. Setting up Multi-user combo. A. Click the Unlock combo icon. B. For single user authentication, there should be a 1 below Group 1 beside ID 1 only. C. For Multi-user authentication, there should be a 1 below Group 1 and Group 2 beside ID 1 only. Click away to save. D. Then click close. 5. Adding Devices A. Click on the device management icon. B. Then Click Add. C. Enter in the IP address and the device name. D. Then click ok. E. Repeat as necessary for quantity. 6. Programming IP addresses on MedixSafes. A. On the MedixSafe keypad, press Menu. B. With The F3/v button navigate to options,and press ok C. Then to Comm Options and press ok. D. Then to IP Address and press ok. E. Enter the IP address and press ok. F. Then down to Gateway and press ok. G. Enter the default gateway and press ok. H. Press F1/c once, and it will prompt you to save. Press ok save. Page 2 of 5
7. Testing connection between software and MedixSafe(s). A. Click the Device Management icon. B. Select safe under device list. C. Once safe is highlighted, click test connection. D. If successful, a message will display stating connection successful. E. If connection fails, further trouble shooting is necessary. 8. Changing the device ID. A. Click device management. B. The first safe on the list can stay at ID 1. C. Click second safe under device. D. Test connection to device. E. Then click read options at bottom of window. F. Information will fill in under communication options. G. Change the device s ID from 1 to 2, and click set options. H. It will prompt you to restart the device. I. Click the Other tab on the same window, and click restart device. J. Once device has restarted, click the communications tab and change device ID under the communication parameter. K. Repeat as necessary for each device. No two devices should have the same device ID. 9. Uploading or applying settings. A. Click one of your device icons. B. Click upload settings icon. C. Select AC options only. D. Select the safe that you are connected to. If all safes are networked, you can click them all and upload at once. E. Then click Upload. 10. Adding a new user. A. Click User management. B. You will see a plus sign(+). Click the plus sign to add a user. C. Enter the user s information. D. The card number you enter under CARD NO depends on the card type. See picture on following page. Enter the number that is in the red box. Page 3 of 5
E. Then click Set Password. F. Enter a 3, 4, or 5 digit password, and reenter to verify. G. Then click the check mark at the top to save the entered information. H. Then select FP10.0. I. Then click enroll. J. Select the finger you want to enroll. K. Place finger on USB Fingerprint Sensor as instructed by software. L. Enter second finger as back up. M. Then click ok. 11. Uploading users from software to MedixSafe. A. Click from device to pc. B. Then select user (s) you want to send and the device. C. Then select the device you are connected to. D. Then click Upload. Once successful, test the MedixSafe for correct functionality. 12. Setting an Administrator(s) in the software. A. Click system management icon at the top of the software window. B. Click administrator management. C. Then click administrator in bottom left of window. D. Then click add administrator. E. Your department user list will display. F. Click the user you want as an administrator. G. Then click ok. H. Click ok on following message. Page 4 of 5
I. Then click the double green check mark at the top to give full control over the software s administration. J. The password defaults to that user s user id. K. Highlight admin and click edit password. L. Enter user id for old password and enter new password and verify. M. Then click ok.
