Omnify Empower 5.0 System Requirements Overview Omnify Web Omnify Support Omnify uses a 3-tier architecture: Database Tier - Omnify SQL Server database Data Access/Components Tier - Manages all Omnify XML Web Services and application libraries Presentation Tier - Manages all Web Pages for User GUI (graphical user interface) Multiple tiers can reside on a single node/machine or separated across different servers. This document describes system software and hardware requirements for each tier as well as web browsers supported for client/user access. Client/User Access All core Omnify Empower 5.0 applications and modules are web browser-based applications. The following browsers are supported for client/user access: Browser Version Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 (or greater) Mozilla Firefox 3 (or greater) Safari 3.1 (or greater) Google Chrome 2 (or greater) Database Requirements The Omnify Database requires Microsoft SQL Server and supports the following versions and editions: SQL Server 2005 Edition Standard Edition Workgroup Edition 64-bit Edition Express Edition SQL Server 2008 Edition Datacenter Edition Standard Edition Workgroup Edition 64-bit Edition Express Edition Omnify recommends using SQL Server 2008 (Standard, or 64-bit editions). Refer to the Microsoft SQL Server web site for more information on SQL Server versions and editions. Actual requirements for SQL Server will vary based on version/edition and the applications and features you choose to install. TCP/IP must be enabled at the operating system level before installing SQL Server.
