BUILT IN THE USA RW-OZ Series Water Reclamation Systems ENGINEER GUIDE: OZONE SYSTEMS
RW-OZ Series Skid-Mounted Water Reclamation Systems Water Control RW-OZ Series Water Reclamation Systems provide an innovative option for drastically reducing building water and sewer usage, gaining multiple points towards LEED certification, and minimizing the negative environmental impact of new and existing commercial facilities. These systems harvest and store rainwater, graywater, condensate, groundwater and backwash water (as well as water from other select sources) and then reuse it to provide clean, nearly potable quality water to irrigation systems, toilets, urinals, cooling towers, washdown tanks, and other non-potable applications. With over 40 years of experience in commercial water filtration and conditioning, Water Control is a name you can count on for innovative, high quality solutions to your "green" system challenges. System Advantages: May contribute toward multiple points under LEED v4 program: - Integrative Process (1 point) - Outdoor Water Use Reduction (Pre-requisite + 1-2 points) - Indoor Water Use Reduction (Pre-requisite + 2 7 points) - Cooling Tower Water Use (1 2 points) - Rainwater Management (1 3 points) - Regional Priority (up to 4 points) Greatly reduces water and sewer usage: Reduced impact fees! NO chemicals or additives required Minimal system maintenance requirements Guaranteed minimum disinfection levels Cistern tanks remain clean! RW-OZ Series Details: RW-OZ SERIES UNITS Turnkey water reuse systems, which arrive pre-plumbed and pre-wired for easy installation and operation. A powerful ozone system aids in removing contaminants as well as disinfecting and deodorizing. The onboard purification process provides filtered, sanitized, odor-free water on-demand. No post holding tank or sump pump is required on most applications. The system s small footprint takes only minimal space in the mechanical room. THE OZONE RECIRCULATION SYSTEM Operated independently from the filtration pump system and is controlled by an ORP feedback system to ensure constant disinfection levels of minimum 0.05 mg/l. (approx.). The powerful ozone re-circulation system serves to disinfect any contaminants, so that they may be easily captured by the micro-pore filtration system. Ozone kills microbes, enzymes, and bacteria so that there will be no build-up of organic growth, nor will there be a build-up of odor-forming bacteria. Within minutes, ozone (O3) reverts back to oxygen (O2). This results in sanitized, odor-free water, with no harmful byproducts or contaminants. THE PRIMARY FILTRATION SYSTEM Pump (and an associated filtration array) is designed for maximum water quality. The system receives ozone-treated, reclaimed water from the holding tank (cistern) and processes this water to remove all particulate matter of greater than twenty-five (25) microns. In addition, the filtration system is self-cleaning (backwashing), requiring little or no maintenance. The system provides water on demand so no post-holding tanks are required. The AutoBypass feature automatically switches to fresh water when cistern water levels are low, ozone concentrations are low, or the filtration system is backwashing. INSTALLATION: After the cistern tank is in place, a plumber can typically install the system in two days. An electrician simply connects required power to the unit. Once installed, a simple, one-time factory startup is all it takes to get the system into service. MAINTENANCE Primarily limited to periodic inspection and cleaning of simple screens and pump baskets, which can be accomplished in a few minutes about once a month. QUALITY FEATURES Includes a powder-coated aluminum frame, stainless steel self-cleaning filter housings, schedule 80 PVC & solid brass plumbing, heavy-duty pumps, stainless steel hardware, and much more. Ozone generator shall be constructed of modular components for easy removal/repair/refurbishment and shall include mechanical room air quality monitor for shut down in case of ozone leakage. System shall include a quantity of model in-line separators for pre-filtration of dirt, moss, leaves, insects, hair, foam and other wastes from reclaimed water prior to entering tank. Separators shall be capable of serving sq.ft. roof area or GPM flow each. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING: Reduced pressure zone backflow preventer on potable water bypass supply line (refer to state codes for requirements). Mechanical room floor drain for filter backwash effluent, from 25 micron AutoClean filter. Electrical supply and reclaimed water system piping. MANUFACTURER SHALL PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING: System setup and startup, as well as contractor/owner training services. Complete system submittals, including O&M manual with wiring diagrams. One-year limited warranty. 10
