How to Get to Camerino by plain or/and train using our shuttle buses Camerino is located between Perugia and Ancona near the Italian east coast, 60 km from the Adriatic beaches. It can be reached from all parts of Italy by train, bus or car. While Camerino does have a branch line train station (Camerino-Castelraimondo), the nearest main line train station is Foligno. The closest airports are in Ancona (Falconara airport) at 1 hour of distance from Camerino by car/bus and in Rome (Leonardo da Vinci airport at Fiumicino) at 3 hours of distance from Camerino by car/bus Shuttle buses will be from both airports on July 10 th in the afternoon (probably at 15:00 from Rome airport and at 17:30 from Ancona airport) and for departure on July 16. Shuttle taxis will be also from Foligno station to Camerino. About Ancona Falconara airport (AOI). It is a small but international airport with flights by Lufthansa via Munich (3 flights every day). Ryanair flights from Charleroi, Dusseldorf, Stansted. Private Taxi from Ancona airport to Camerino takes 60 minutes and should cost about 120 Euro. Public transports take a long time. So, please, if you plan to arrive in Ancona airport let us know because we can have more than one shuttle bus in the arrival and departure dates. If you would like to reach Foligno by train from Rome Fiumicino airport (FCO). Train Leonardo express from Fiumicino airport to Roma Termini station ( about 30 minutes). Train from Roma Termini station to Foligno station (on the Roma to Ancona line). 80-110 minutes. You MUST stamp your ticket on the platform before boarding the train. 2. On Eurostar (FrecciaBianca) trains you must make a seat reservation before boarding the train. These rules are enforced by the train conductors. There are many on the spot fines! By Car From Rome or Naples Follow the A1 until the exit for Orte. Continue to Foligno. At Foligno turn onto Statale SS77 in the direction of Macerata, crossing the mountain pass of Colfiorito. Continue to Serravalle and then follow the signs for Camerino.
From Florence and the North-west Take the autostrade A1 until the toll booth Val di Chiana. Go towards Perugia and then towards Foligno. At Foligno turn onto Statale SS77 in the direction of Macerata, crossing the mountain pass of Colfiorito. Continue to Serravalle and then follow the signs for Camerino. From Pescara/ Foggia/ Bari Take the autostrade A14 until the toll booth Civitanova Marche. Turn onto the superstrada (SS77) in the direction Foligno/Roma. Stay on the superstrada for about 60 km then take the Camerino exit and follow the signs for 8 km. From Bologna and the North-east Follow the A14 until the exit for Ancona Nord. Follow Statale 78, passing Iesi, Serra D. Quirico. Exit from the SS78 and then follow the signs for Camerino. Continue past Cerreto d'esi, Matelica, Castel Raimondo. Alternative. This alternative is longer in distance, but it follows an easier route and takes the same time. Take the autostrade A14 until the toll booth Civitanova Marche. Turn onto the superstrada (SS77) in the direction Foligno/Roma. Stay on the superstrada for about 60 km then take the Camerino exit and follow the signs for 8 km. Information to drive in Camerino It is legal to drive in the very narrow streets of the medieval centre of Camerino, but don't do it. Park your car in the central Car Park ( Parcheggio ) on the town's northern edge. The car-park street address is viale Emilio Betti, Camerino. GPS longitude: 13.067550 latitude: 43.136740 When approaching Camerino, look carefully for and follow the signs to "parcheggio con risalita meccanizzato". This will take you to the car park. Take an automatic ticket at the car park entrance barrier but then go immediately to the car park ticket office and ask there to exchange the automatic ticket for a weekly ticket called a "settimanale". The settimanale costs 18 Euro and with it you can freely exit and re-enter for the full week. We may get free parking for the Conference but we still have to negotiate From the car park it is a one minute elevator ride up to Camerino's central Piazza Cavour and the Ducal Palace, the venue for the conference.
