CT Virtual Learning Courses CT Virtual Learning offers supplemental online courses for high school students : Credit Recovery courses with year-round flexible starting dates. Advanced Placement courses with fixed start and end dates. World Languages courses with fixed start and end dates.

CT Virtual Learning Standards Courses are taught by CT certified teachers. Course curriculum has been reviewed and approved by the CT State Department of Education. All courses are approved by the NCAA. All Advanced Placement courses are College Board approved.

CT Virtual Learning Administration An Online Enrollment, Registration & Reporting System. CT Certified Teachers trained to teach online. Course content aligned with State of CT standards. Help Desk Support 7 days per week, 12 hours per day. Administrative access to student progress reports. Final Grade notification. District/Schools have access to program data. Training is provided for school staff.

The Coordinator at Your School Will: Register and enroll students in their courses. Appoint a Mentor for each enrolled student. Coordinate the configuration of school computers to meet the minimum requirements of the courseware. Ensure the student has access to a computer with internet, preferably during school hours. Supply the student with any text books or course materials required by the course. Assure that all student prerequisites have been met prior to enrolling students in CT Virtual Learning courses. Record grades on official transcripts and award credit.

Mentors are expected to: Make certain that students know how to access their online courses and create their pace charts. Ensure that students communicate with their online instructors weekly by asking questions and engaging in the discussion board area. Advise students to spend time reading their lessons before they try to complete their assignments. Review the students coursework, grades, progress reports, and teacher comments on a regular basis. Communicate with the online teacher directly if there are student issues that the teacher needs to be aware of.

Transparency of Learning All communication between the student and teacher is done through the course messaging system and discussion boards. Students upload their completed assignments directly into the course for grading and comments. All quizzes and tests are taken through the course. Some schools schedule students to take their exams during school hours with a proctor. The Learning Management System records course statistics including dates and times that the course was accessed and assignments were submitted.

Cost of CT Virtual Learning Courses are priced per-student, per-course: Semester-Long (16 week) Courses Full Year (32 week) Courses $320 CT public schools $350 private/home schooled $640 CT public schools $690 private/home schooled Students will be given a 30 day drop period. Schools can pay with a credit card option or set up a billing account. A $25 credit for future enrollments for each final grade of 70% or higher. AP Test Prep Courses are free of charge. No hidden fees or additional charges for membership or training. Course curriculum is also available for lease to CT schools/districts.
