DRAWER INSTALLATION If you need to remove the file drawer or keyboard tray with ball bearing slides from the unit, please follow the steps below to prevent any damage to the slides or the drawers. 1. If you need to remove the drawer, please pull the drawer all the way out, then simultaneously push the plastic release lever of the ball bearing slide up on one side and down on the other side, and pull the drawer completely out. See detail #A. 2. To place the drawer back, simply push the ball bearing cart all the way to the end of the slides (on both sides), and align the slide runners on the drawer with the slide tracks on the unit. Push it carefully inside until it stops. See detail #B. NOTE: If the drawer does not go in smoothly, please take it out and repeat the step. Whalen Furniture Mfg., Inc. Page 5 Factory # 16452
Assembly Instructions Tools required: Phillips Screwdriver, Mallet, Power Drill, and 3/8 Drill Bit 1. Unpack the unit and confirm you have all the hardware and parts required. NOTE: Must install the wall mounting hardware with the products in use. 2. Position the FILE CABINET (A) close to the wall on your desired location. 3. In case of uneven floor, FLOOR LEVELERS are provided at the bottom of the CABINET. Adjust the FLOOR LEVELERS by hand to correct tilting, until the unit is level. 4. Attach one of the MOUNTING BRACKETS (2) securely to the back edge of the furniture with the SHORT SCREW (4). 5. Determine where the furniture is to be placed and mark location on the wall for the MOUNTING BRACKET screw hole approximately 2 below the BRACKET (2) mounted to the edge of the furniture. 6. Drill a 3/8 hole in the wall. Press the PLASTIC ANCHOR (1) into the hole and gently tap until the flange of the anchor is against the wall surface. 7. Position the BRACKET (2) over the PLASTIC ANCHOR (1) and use the LONG SCREW (3) to securely attach the BRACKET to the wall. 8. Place the furniture so the BRACKET in the back edge is in line with the BRACKET in the wall. 9. Lace an end of the NYLON RESTRAINT (5) strap down through each BRACKET. Bring both ends together and slice the beaded end of the strap through the keyhole shaped slot on the other end until snug. Pull down on the beaded end until it snaps lock into the keyhole slot. 10. To double lock return the beaded end back through the keyhole as shown. 11. Check to make sure the strap is securely laced and locked to the BRACKETS. Your assembly should now be complete.
