The Senator Lindsey Tippins Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated a successful academic career, outstanding work ethic and exceptional character. A total of 20 scholarships (4 per school) will be awarded to graduating high school seniors that attend one of the following Cobb County schools in Georgia: Allatoona High School, Harrison High School, Hillgrove High School, Kennesaw Mountain High School and North Cobb High School. The Senator Lindsey Tippins Scholarship will provide 20 scholarships to 4 recipients from each of the five High Schools above. There will be one scholarship awarded in each of the following amounts $500, $750, $1000 and $1250. The scholarship will be awarded for financial support to offset the cost of educational expenses including, but not limited to, tuition, housing, board or books. Eligibility criteria: Applicant must meet the following criteria to be eligible for consideration by the Senator Lindsey Tippins Scholarship Committee. 1. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior attending one of the following high schools in Cobb County Georgia: Allatoona, Harrison, Hillgrove, Kennesaw Mountain, and North Cobb. 2. Applicant must have demonstrated academic success with a minimum GPA of 2.5. 3. Applicant must demonstrate an outstanding work ethic in the classroom, playing field, community service, and/or employment. 4. Applicant must demonstrate an exceptional attitude and character. 5. Applicant must supply a copy of their high school transcript. 6. Applicant must intend to enroll full time in an undergraduate program at a fully accredited two or four year college/university no later than the Fall of 2016. Applicants must supply a copy of the acceptance letter for his/her chosen college/university. NOTE: If an acceptance letter is not available before the application deadline, submit the application and indicate that you are still waiting for the letter. 7. Applicant must submit (1) letter of support from an individual who is qualified to the address the candidate s suitability for this award. This letter should be from a teacher, coach, employer or pastor. The letter must address character and attitude. 8. Submit a Student Aid Report (SAR) and statement of any financial circumstances. 1
Submitting an Application Applications are available in Admin 1 and on Harrison Scholarship Bulletin. Qualified individuals wishing to be considered for the Lindsey Tippins Scholarship must submit a completed application including all required materials to: Counseling Office Harrison High School Applications Materials Check-List An application will be considered valid and complete when the following materials are included: Complete and signed application form Copy of High School Transcripts Copy of College /University acceptance letter, if available. Letter of Recommendation Student Resume outlining extracurricular activities, community service and /or employment. Student Aid Report Short Statement on Work Ethic Award Notification and Payment The scholarship recipients will be recognized at the Hoya Awards. Scholarship payment will be made in one installment on July 15, 2016 (unless notified otherwise) upon official notification of enrollment/registration for classes. Payment will be made to the college or university on behalf of the recipient. Recipient must fill out a College Intent form provided up receiving the award and send back to the Cobb Schools Foundation by July 1, 2016. (This will be provided to each recipient) Recipients Obligation Acceptance of the award constitutes permission for Cobb Schools Foundation and Senator Lindsey Tippins to use the recipient s name in recognition as a recipient of the scholarship in the organizations publications and announcements. Furthermore, recipient agrees to provide official documentation indicating full time enrollment at the college or university of his/her choice before payment is made. Failure to supply documentation as a registered, degree seeking student will result in revocation of the full amount of the award. 2

Agreement By Signing below, I certify that the information on this application and all its attachments are true and correct. I understand that the Senator Lindsey Tippins Scholarship Committee may conduct investigations related to the information that I have provided herein and agree to hold the committee harmless of any claims of liability resulting from these investigations. I understand that, if awarded a scholarship, I will be required to submit proof of registration as a full time, degree seeking student at a two or four year college or university in the United States for the Fall of 2016 semester before any award payment is made.
