In this course you ll combine an intensive German course in the mornings with an extracurricular and sports program offering lots of variety. The course takes place at the modern conference center of the Heidelberg University of Applied Sciences. You ll have full access to the fitness and sports facilities free of charge. The course fee includes single-room accommodation with breakfast. The very well-appointed rooms are equipped with shower/wc, television and a telephone. This course is suitable for you if you have been working for some time in Germany or are about to begin a residency to train as a specialist at a German hospital. The course will enhance your communication and intercultural skills for the clinical working environment. You will learn new medical and pharmaceutical vocabulary terms, German colloquial expressions for diseases and organs, various forms of clinical documentation, and the correct style for writing physician s reports. We practice patient conversations with you, for example, in taking down medical histories and examination situations. Additional topics are the German healthcare system, hospital organizations, introducing patients, diagnostic equipment, case presentations, preparation and presentation of expert lectures, and preparing a job application.
