KINDERGARTEN 1- MAY - 2011 Coming to school makes Me happy and gay, I read, write, laugh and play, With my friends everyday! This is what I have learnt in the month of May. ENGLISH The sounds of the letters r, m, d, g, o, l, u, f, b, j.... I am trying to master. Each letter sound has an action, to help me recall faster I can read and write letters i,l & t and associate objects with the related sound, with glee! Sight words: The first Sight word I have learnt is WE Blending words: I am trying to blend and read c-at, s-at, r-at & m-at.

MATH I am able to count numbers 1-5 I ve learnt to write the number 1 And its value too. I can count it, just for you! Shapes like rectangle, semi circle, and oval Colours yellow, orange and brown. I can identify I ve learnt to count & match, Concept of big & small is always a catch! EVS I ve learnt the Magic words and the Days of the week. I know all about the Kitchen, Living Room, Bathroom and Bedroom is the place where I sleep. Parts of my body and senses I know. Hygiene is the way to keep myself clean By my actions I can show! Virtue for the month THANK YOU, SORRY, PLEASE. are the words of gold They work like magic, whenever they are told!

These are some activities which you can enjoy doing at home with your child You could help your child to mould clay in different shapes. This will help to develop his/her fine motor skills. Help your child identify the beginning sounds of objects at home like, i igloo, t table and l lamp. Ask your child how he uses the Golden Words at school. This will inculcate the value politeness in your child. Help your child draw the Family tree at home. To reinforce the letter sound: Show the Flash cards for the letters one at a time and ask your child to do the action and say the sound. Set up 4 different spoons have your child put them in order of small to big (size). Play with your child. Through play children will learn their way. It develops curiosity. When children play, they become inquisitive and increase their desire to find out about things. They learn to enjoy learning.
