The publication entitled and in Croatia, 2015 is the tenth one of this kind published by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics. The goal of the publication is to illustrate the position of men and women in our society, using up-to date statistical indicators. The publication consists of the following chapters: Population, Health, Education, Employment and Earnings, Pensions, Administration of justice and Political Power. Tables and graphs are presented without additional statistical or sociological analyses. Besides absolute data disaggregated by sex, it also contains the sex distribution in percentages, which directly shows a position of women and men. Gender equality is a fundamental constitutional principle in Republic of Croatia, it means that women and men should be equally present in all spheres of public and private life and that they should have equal status, equal opportunities to exercise all their rights and equal benefit from achieved results. Most of the data presented in this publication are results of statistical surveys of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics. A minor part of data has been taken over from other institutions whose names are stated bellow tables. In order to further increase the relevance of published statistical data, we have decided to accept the proposal of users and from the next edition align the publishing date with the publishing of yearly data on wages and employment Other users are also invited to provide remarks and suggestions that will be examined in order to improve next editions.
